Omg that end grain is glorious! Obviously how you did your rabbets were scary, I’m trying to remember from the start (end grain is confusing me) but probably would’ve been best to to add those prior to cutting your pieces small. But again I could be wrong, with the grain direction changed early on I can’t figure out if that would’ve worked or not plus you cut your shorter so that’d be something you’d have to rip early on too. Another idea is to mount all those pieces snuggly onto a longer/taller board using carpenters tape and then rabbeting those out. Regardless, good job mainly said that for anyone watching and wondering another way around it! Very good job, I love this simple size and the beauty this piece has is just stunning! The cow hide is my favorite idea for joining all those beautiful pieces of end grain together! Love these builds

I can figure out which one it is and get back to you. The fence is honestly horrible so I wouldn’t recommend it. There are alot of great universal aftermarket fences out there though!

It is a really great build. Did you design it also yourself? I like it very much that you showed every steps. Thanks for making the video, it is a pleasure to watch. Please correct me if i am wrong but I think one should not wear gloves when operating rotary machines especially table saw or router. One more thing, would you sell your plans?

Just a short question from my side. The glue you're using for adhering the slats with the leather is it ordinary wood glue diluted with some water?
@Yarmles Жыл бұрын
It’s contact cement, you put a coat on the fabric and slats and let it dry completely, once you touch them together they have a reaction and stick to each other firmly.

The zebrawood looks very nice with the walnut. Did you use a colored stain to get the colors to be so close? And did I see that right - the lights turn on and off when it's opened and closed?
@Yarmles Жыл бұрын
I didn’t use any stain on this project, it’s all satin oil based Varathane. The colors just worked in my favor with this one. And yes the lights have motion sensors and are automatic, they turn off 20 seconds after the doors close.

Video idea: Cut this into task sections of each about 30 minutes work, and give chapter links, so people could follow it to do one task per day, in manageable periods. Of course people could do more than one per day if they chose to.

may i ask how did you mounted it to the wall? (prob a dumb question, but I still see my self as a beginner)
@Yarmles Жыл бұрын
I attached the aluminum L channel to the wall and slid the shelf over top of it and put those brass screws through the case into the threaded holes I made previously. Definitely not a dumb question, I could have went into depth a little more on the install myself. Thanks for watching

This is a new channel?! The vids are very polished!! May I suggest you give more weight to the “ ingenuity” & “problem solving part” instead of all the drilling, sanding, etc. maybe this could be your abbreviated video with a longer one explaining the brainstorming. On the subject of explaining it begs to ask: do you speak English?! I see that you are in the US bc of the equipment, Harbor Freight; 20V instead of 18V(as required in Europe) on the batts; & the use of a tape measure (instead of a folding rule) & in Imperial no less.!! At first I thought you were a transplant but you do & have things in the American way. Just curious. I’ve enjoyed the vids I’ve seen.
@Yarmles Жыл бұрын
Hey thank you, yes I just started it a month or so ago, shocked by the growth honestly. And I will keep your critique in mind when filming my next one. I started this channel with the intention of just making pieces with lofi music over it not really having it be a “how to” channel so I try and keep the text to a minimum for my own sanity. And I am in the US, born on the east coast, currently on the west!

@Yarmles Жыл бұрын
Agreed, I picked these because of the rubber palm/fingers and how tight they fit.
@tom_gorman Жыл бұрын
@Yarmles tight or not, it's fabric, if a blade or bit touches it, it will pull your hand deeper into it and won't let go. Checkout #sawstopsave and look how many people simply nip their fingertip. Go watch any popular woodworking channel, almost none wear gloves for this exact reason, except one or two who have skin disorders. Your hands, but man you're taking an already dangerous tool and making even more dangerous.
