I love using PLA, but here in southern California, I can only use PLA for indoor climate controlled parts. I made bicycle parts before (water bottle cage, etc.) From PLA and it ended up warping from the heat on a hot day. Above 110F, not recommended.

dude I know this is a bit late but In the small aluminum gear pulley thing there's a place to screw onto the shaft. if you sdrill the shaft so the screw in that aluminum piece can go in to then it would work. and also to fix the wheel all you need to do is put a brand new spoke in and tighten it to fix it's true

Yeah indeed, talking to my engineer friends to point out all the mistakes we would have foreseen, hahahaha. Nonetheless a great try, but also not much special, because retrofitting parts is the easy part. Finetuning, integrating en durability is the real complex part. (Knowing from building a electric moped myself).

At least by how you've just described it... you couldn't be more wrong. Care to elaborate? Gasoline car engines are typically about 30% efficient where as charging batteries is more than 90% efficient. There's literally no way gas costs less than electricity.

Tm m if "at least quadruple more" is not a generalization, I don't know what is. Charging a battery can cost 4 times more than gasoline? uhm.. no. just no. And sure you could DIY a battery sized for a car (athough I don't know why that matters). Its the exact same thing just scaled up and there are plenty of people right here on youtube who have done it.

I'm sure others have said this but, run a screw through the chassis tube to lock the rotation of the motor mount. Then you have a guarantee of no rotation on the tube. Plus, you can utilize the regen braking.

i WOULD worry about battery cooling/venting for the enclosure. high amp discharge 18650's get hot when using a constant draw.
