shouldve filed grooves inside the shims so you know for sure that youre getting expoxy in there.

A little masking tape also goes a long way come clean up time!

Epoxy intolerance is accumulative and you are getting it all over yourself. Wear rubber gloves, I change them every couple of minutes and use an acid brush. Can’t believe how much you waste, try using syringes with flat nozzles and more tape.

Doesn't all that masking tape add considerably weight to the rod? And what about all that epoxy...doesn't that contribute to weight also? Not being sarcastic here...I'm just curious as I am very new to this craft...

I'm just starting myself. I'm thinking this must be mainly for salt rods trolling mainly. Just don't see it being too great on balance and sensitivity for freshwater type applications.
