So many negative comments the past couple days and you've been working on a 45 minute video! So crazy Alyssa! Thank you for all your work!

I seriously don't know what I'll do when you guys move in, it has become part of my daily routine to watch your progress since accidentally stumbling across your channel months ago. You are the "Truman show" of DIY home building. This week has felt super gratifying for me too somehow watching it all come together. Jesse said it...the Power of Community! To all who helped, you were an inspiration and a blessing to watch. Great filming, Levi! History made.

Whoa what an achievement. I'm a paramedic in the UK and your video came out as I was just going to work. I have had to wait 14 hrs to watch this!!! In future please time your releases around my shift patterns better, the wait was killing me. Well done guys, now the work begins

We started at "GIRL Sells BRAND NEW CAR to START a HOMESTEAD", watched you guys climbing on corrugated rooftops, we were saddened when you suddenly had only one cat, scratched our heads when you bought a tractor and then when you upgraded your mill. You (and we) have come so far. Thank you for allowing us to share your adventure ~ living vicariously through your efforts and hard work. So happy we never got to see the cursing ~ but only the hugs ! You have touched so many lives, it's incredible. And you've surrounded yourselves with some of the most AWESOME folks, good job all. I've never seen a home assembled with love.... and the blessing of erecting the timbers in the snow ~ magical!

A lot of folks gave you guys a really hard time about this video not coming faster. They might not realize how much work goes into editing a 15 minute video, but the time it takes to edit a 45 minute long film like this is incredible. Very well done. Beautifully filmed, lovingly presented, and the 'money shots' at the end are fantastic! The sunset and the drone pull-away were dramatic and beautiful!

When it took you three days to put this together, I knew it would be good and you did not disappoint. I am impressed with your editing skill and artistry. I feel like Levi was the moral conscious of this series. It's really hard to draw people into conversation with the camera going. Hey guys. No one is making these naysayers watch your channel. Pay no attention to them. I love your channel and the opportunity to watch your journey. As a retired architect, I just loved the workshop footage and watching noobies learn and develop into craftsmen. Of course, we didn't see all of Levi's footage, but it all seemed to go very well and the timbers appeared to fit very well. I will make the comment that the floor joist dropped into their pockets loosely, but maybe that's the way that they're designed. My biggest question is on how the posts are anchored to the floor structure. The Timber Institute is a quality group of people and obviously great teachers.

The videos are high quality and the editing is superb. I have been particularly enjoying the narrations that have been used recently. I also love the time-lapses and the drone footage! Video was brilliant. Well done all!!! Interesting to see the difference between America and Ireland. This would not even be allowed. Crane drivers with no hard hats workers on the frame with no harnesses. People without what we call safe passes needed to be on a building site. The difference is cavernece. Plus work would not go on in weather as bad as that. We have gone very safety PC here.

Out of curiosity, how are the main support beams secured to the floor?
@mindwalkn32527 жыл бұрын
A&J Talked about adding blocking on top of the steel beam 2x6" Cap Board, sandwiching the wood I-Beams over top of the Garage Posts to direct transfer the load down to the support slabs and the ICF walls would be the same way . . . We never saw video of these blocks being installed... Those long lag screws would go down through the warmboard into the blocking . . What I wonder about is all that weight compressing the warmboard and cap board causing dips at the main floor where the posts of the timber frame rest on the warm board causing a bow in the floor to the center line.

Excellent! Looks awesome! Too many people asking about how the fame was attached to the floor. You guys should answer that! Inquiring minds would like to know. How was the frame attached to the floor? How was the frame attached to the floor? How was the frame attached to the floor? How was the frame attached to the floor? Great video and thanks ...

Probably only a center pin made out of rebar drilled into the post as well as in the sill plates then secure with their long screws.This is my guess.

That part got left on the cutting room floor. Alyssa was trying to get the video edited and posted so that people would stop accusing them of milking it for money. People thought they were owed a frame raising video.
