Very nice , the Schumacher buggies scare me because I always here about people having problems with the build. But I really like the look of them and all that aluminum they have in them . One day I’ll get up the nerve and try one , until then I’ll just enjoy watching you build it Gavin . Great video.

Great video Gavin!! Gives me a trip down memory lane, back in the day I raced a Schumacher Cougar, Cougar 2 and Shotgun Truck!! They were class kits and very reliable, I raced the Cougar in the Welsh buggy league and came 10th in the 2wd Standard class!! Sounds impressive but there were only 10 people racing🥴 so effectively I came last 🤣😂 but I did have great fun and raced all around South and Mid wales!! And won a lovely Trophy to boot!! Thanks for the memory jolt👍😄

Awesome video as always!! I never had an off-road buggy like this, just Tamiya's, I was more into on-road touring car racing. I had a Schumacher Mission 2, which was a little bit of a pig to build, the fit and finish wasn't the best. I hated the dampers/shocks on it, but they worked OK in the end. Once built the Mi-2 was a great handling car, had a lot of fun with it, alongside a Tamiya TA-04, TA-05IFS and TA-05R, not to mention an XRay T1 FK'05..... Looking forward to part 2 of the build!!

Perfect timing for me this build, got a top cat next on my list, with a full length savox servo ready to go in, or not now apparently :( lol! Thanks for the heads up best get on line and order a short servo and probably one of those brass front sections while i'm at it!

I really want one of these,i wanted one when i was young but couldnt afford one back then,spent all my money on a full size car.I made do with a grasshopper and a hornet which i still have but are both much modified.Might get myself an early xmas present.

Gavin, your video will help me a lot with my build, im so looking forward to it. One question for you, the manual doesn't suggest greasing any of the metal pins used in the suspension, im surprised cause its a wear / friction area. Did you grease yours, amd if so, the silicone in the kit?

Not sure about the Ultima but it’s way more nimble than an Astute. We will find out as I can now do lap times for cars so I will be running head to head lap time races to find out. 👍🏻

Yes you are correct. I’ve just been sent some pictures. A full size works but it does limit your battery placement to just the rear. I think (could be wrong) but you can also have a centre battery position with a half height.

I’m sure we used pretty hot motors back in the 1990’s with standard transmission. What the reasoning why it won’t handle less than 17.5??

did they add the slipper clutch to it or slip the ball diff? The limiting factor may not be the motor but use of lipos now.

Many years ago my first serious buggy was a Bosscat then i moved over to Kyosho Lazers and the different is part quality was unreal,schumacher hardware was made of cheese mid/late 1980`s dont know about now
