Your build just popped up in our feed. Very well done. We are currently working on a Flatbed Camper Frame now. As seen on our channel. Great to see how you approached such things as frame, boxs, wheel fenders and lights to name a few. Very cool thank you for sharing. Mark (& Teresa)

That bed is awesome. You did outstanding job👍. What size and wall tubing did you use?
@nitrostreet- Жыл бұрын
I can't remember exactly, that was 5 years ago, but I think I used 3 X 3 by .188" wall for the main frame because the trailer hitches mount on them, and 2 x 4 by .120" wall on top of that

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you close the holes from taking the large mirrors off?
@nitrostreet-4 жыл бұрын
The passenger door on the truck when I got it had the upper window rail damaged while it was open somewhere so I replaced the doors with some 2003 Yukon doors , this truck originally had all manual windows and locks and I went to power doors and locks. One thing I might point out on adding power stuff is you better be very comfortable with wiring or plan on spending big bucks to have the wiring done, I spent most of a winter at the kitchen table tracing each switch and circuit and drawing up the wiring harness to make it work.

At 0:18 seconds into the video you can see the Yukon doors leaning on the wall, they had some plastic cladding on the bottom of them so I got a Wagner Furno heat gun and very carefully took it off, with that Wagner gun I can take off decals or anything that's glued to paint and it looks like it never was there, there's videos on KZbin showing how to do it

@@nitrostreet- what is the bed weight of this thing? It isn't too heavy for the truck?
@nitrostreet-4 жыл бұрын
@@stevensaxon8888 From the spring height and the way it drives it's considerably lighter than the bed that was on it when I bought it.

Good looking built. Great finished project. What was your total cost on the bed you built?
@MHFtractor6 жыл бұрын
Regardless of cost you have a great looking project that you finished. 😎
@nitrostreet-6 жыл бұрын
@@MHFtractor Thanks, I used Cold Rolled steel for everything which is more expensive that hot rolled but alot easier to prep for paint.

Toter? This gotta be a Country term. Toter means "Dead". Great video though. Thanks for sharing.
@nitrostreet-5 жыл бұрын
LOL while I'm not exactly sure where the term came from I believe it started in race car haulers; it's just a style of bed for towing, if you google toterhome you get a motorhome made for towing a trailer (or hauling the vehicle inside the motorhome in some cases) and toter truck same thing without the motorhome.
