I am watching you! I went to Auto Tech School 1967-1969 and we had Automatic Trans courses GM, Ford, Chrysler. It is a very rare dude that can assemble these things without the manual and diagrams and pictures and sequence of parts. There are too many parts to keep straight in a normal persons head. This is incredible talent and skill. Simply Amazing focus and drive and Talent. Wow! Dennis

Way back in the 90's when I first got my 65 Mustang we went on holiday to the Isle of Wight (just off the south coast of England). The wife, two kids dog and a boot full of luggage. Just as we were getting to the hotel I lost all but 1st gear. I was thinking big bills and no car for the holiday but it turned out to be the little rubber hose on the modulator. What a relief as it was an easy fix. Later on the holiday the ignition coil packed up and the car kept stalling. Luckily another easy fix as any coil would do in a temporary situation

Excellent video Brent :) also remember years ago when did my Auto Mechanics shop classes in Turbo 400 3 speed transmission for my late Dad & Uncle share a 1978 GMC High Series Serria Scottdale 25 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive 411 rear ends gears with 350 V8 ! What happened he couldn't get From D to L2 , L1 on gear shifter what happened he had cable need change and then found L2 wouldn't work what happened the band had lost screw hold in place was sitting on filter to get screw back ! So drain fluid out to plus new filter plus gasket to and before put together my Auto Mechanics shop classes teacher said want give shift kit in transmission he liked for free for credit classes mark and did to ! Then gave back my dad & uncle asked me how shift works so told them and tried out and say love it with shift kit more better stock Lol! I said be nice to old transmission Lol and did! Then got me do to 1990 Chevrolet Cheyenne 2500 3/4 ton too other pick up they had and service to! Also hope chest cold clears up Brent and feeling better soon too 🙏!

I kinda wondered why no drain plug in the transmission pan cause it seemed like when I did it, I never had to drain for a ah sh** moment and to me thats just a friday the thirteenth thing. A couple ideas or just thoughts running crazy in my brain box is a build for just doing a transmission where you mount it in the stand, turn it on and then spin the transmission up to see just how good it is or not. Guy like you could do the thinking of it (concept thing) and then when Karl make his appearance on the show, make him do the CNC part for cutting out all of the pieces and bits. About the only difference in the way you do it and his method of cutting something out is his way of stacking everything on a sheet of metal and then go have a beverage while it does all the work. Although not a lot of difference in ages, he is going to be a force in fab work someday. He is good now but I feel like his talents are just beginning. I can hardly go without saying though, you see, and that means a done thing before its even done or started and he needs a direction to get started! I know that you don't appear to like doing paint for a top of the line finish.... more the patina look and other folk can't wait to see a dripping in water finish like Tony Lang does... I just may have that last name spelled way wrong but his paint is kinda famous for sema jobs. My other idea that has already been done by you when you get around to doing is a stand for a transmission for rotating or just stacking in the parts. Not too sure of how many transmissions have the provision for mounting on a stand to work on them but all of the old junk I worked on seemed to adapt well to being stood up where its lower to the ground than the bench and the different fluids can drain into a drip pan under it. I learned like you I can imagine by a need for a transmission and my pockets said to do it myself. I had a lot of parts left from trying for a while but then got good enough to go through the piles and make another one from scrap. Always feels good to just take something someone else tossed and fix and sell it back to them with some Kylon on it to raise the values of them. I took one apart that the other guy did, found the C clip he never got it in and seated good so its just floating in there... thats where I stopped and just put it back together to have a great transmission in about a hour. In those days, I was about the name and reputation rather than the money so gave it to him for the price of paint, a hours work (too cheap) and he puts it in and was elated on how good it worked. Had he just made sure the clip was in, would of saved him fifty dollars total cost to him for everything plus I was there when he installed it so just gave him my time helping... few years later he had to tow my wife out of the ditch... a gentle slide in so took about ten to fifteen minutes and he charged us two hundred dollars so when you do a good dead, can figure its not coming back.
