If you want something fun to do in Kenshi now that you can survive and do anything, go get the peeler machine and the leader of the Holy Nation. Put him in the peeler and then give him masterwork limbs, 4 of them. This make him a skeleton. Now take your super buff leader of the Holy Nation armed with masterwork limbs and masterwork gear and let him go in Holy Nation territory so they all attack him because he's a skeleton. Watch the carnage. NPC's can level up, so if you keep him around and use him as a training dummy, you can toughen him up more and make him a better fighter before you release him. (Note, I have not actually done this my self, I do know that 3+ limbs turns a Greenlander into a Skeleton in the eyes of the Holy Nation, so it should work. I know captured prisoners you use as punching bags to train combat on get really buff.)

Damn, I had this idea once before, but I assumed it wouldn't work and that new enemy squads could spawn inside your walls if you are far away enough from it.

Nope! But there are a lot of other issues that may make it seem that way. For one, the game will randomly not recognize walls and NPC’s can just walk through them so you have to double check all your walls. For two, if the walls extend too long out, NPCs will just break them to get through, so you have to built essentially a 4 way stop light to let them through without entering your area

@@dogboooties Do you think it would it be possible to make a single wall that you can walk on top off, and only adding stairs at one end at your base, and another set of stairs at the end? I'm assuming that will cause a whole lot of other problems.

@@DispleasedSwede definitely! But the wall tops can be finicky and stop you from walking on them at certain angles. You’d have to just take your time and place it on mostly flat ground

I’m not sure how to explain it without a picture lol. It’s in skinner’s roam just outside the deadlands right where the acid rain stops before you hit the holy mines. I don’t remember the name but it is a village.

Depending on which buildings specifically you’re referring to, you should be able to research them in the vanilla game, you just might have to reach a higher level of research. You can also used Shift + F12 to access the debug tool and spawn in buildings I think but I haven’t messed around with that too much. There is also a Kenshi Discord you can join that might have better help!

I think conceptually, yes. There are other issues within the game though. AI Pathing within your base means that sometimes your farmers may not rest in your bed because its too far away or bring food to the stove if it's too far away. You would have to still basically build a mini city every so often. Also, after extending a certain length, the game stops registering your base and you have to manually build things and it gets a little funky. Debug tool could change that. So yes, and no.

Most of them are quality of life changes. I have better farm fences, cozy furniture, better textures, the Dark UI, and a better map. The big game changers are the recruitable prisoners mod which lets you recruit most of the NPCs in the game if you arrest them, and reactive world which lets cities be taken over more than once.

there is no way to do a tunnel in Kenshi.

But fundamentally it functions as a tunnel. One way in, one way out, walled off from the outside world. Once you have it walled in and put up mercenary tents to create a roof, you are also safe from acid rain. That's the closest thing you can get in Kenshi to a tunnel, since they obviously don't have any way to go underground.
