I have always wanted to build a proper drift supercar! After many years of test driving exotic cars sideways I quickly discovered it was very very difficult because they were not intended for this use. Mid engine exotics are the hardest so I decided to try a front engine rear wheel drive Ferrari with a naturally aspirated V12 engine. This was a much more suitable donor car for the project. This is part 1 of our journey to building the worlds most extreme drift supercar with a twin turbo V12 as its power plant!

This is correct. It is a V12 with a flat plane crank. All modern Ferrari engines have a flat plane crank regardless of V8 or V12

Flat plane cranks are why they can rev to 12,000+ RPMs. Hence the Voodoo engine from Ford in the GT350s. Same concept.

The Ferrari F12 is a front engine V12, the F stands for “Front.” Ferrari used to use a Flat 12 which was better for weight distribution, however there was less performance opportunities. Therefore they use a (now) “standard” v12 engine. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
