Building a UK City in Cities: Skylines | Episode 1 🏡

Our brand new project of building a British/UK style city in Cities: Skylines is upon us! Today we add in our first houses and it starts to resemble something like a very small town! 🌆 This town is a fictional build set in the UK.

You've done a great job at making this so realistic and british from the roads to the amazing detail in each area! One thing that bothers me though is that you put the drive thru the wrong way round and not the british side apart from that it's really great!

Nice job!! Id love an english village themed content creator pack for console... The Primary School or your next primary School you make, on the concrete part of the playground you often used to see Hopscotch and Hockey/Netball markings thats what my Primary had in the 1980's, then nearby there was a park with tyre swings, a baby swing, climbing frame and one of those big old wooden triangle structures with the slide and some seats underneath. And its rare nowadays but Pubs used to always have a Dinosaur slide or a tree slide, i remember one local pub near me had a Mother hubbards boot slide where you'd climb up inside the boot and slide down. And alot of country village Railways have a "Thomas" themed character train or a Thomas himself train. Just some food for thaught for you! :)

@@75PercentRad your welcome :), another afterthought for you, you could also nearby have an old WWII tourist museum airfield with the Spitfires and Biplanes like RAF Duxford , if you google earth it you'll see there's a street there where if you lived on that street and looked out of your kitchen window you'd see the Gate Guardian Spitfire and a V2 rocket across the road lol

very convincing! I agree with you about making it work, otherwise it is just a static snap shot. I am trying to make something that resembles a dynamic working county and that changes during the day as cims go to work, go shopping, go to school and so on. The game doesn’t make that easy, but some of the realism mods, such as Real Time, Realistic Population, Lifecycle Rebalance, building spawn points etc help a lot. Also you can use TMPE to set realistic parking and stop cims from spawning cars out of their pockets.

I think it’s doable! 🙂 the main issue you will have is just running it, I have a mid spec computer and it’s already starting to struggle with this build. However, if you have a high spec pc you should be fine. I would plan your areas, and think of: a) how much residential you want b) density of residential c) how much commercial (and density) etc. For each area. Then think of ways to connect these areas, I.e. you don’t want a massive city and then farms directly outside. With a bit of planning and lots of mods you’ll be fine. Again with mods I try and do it area by area, so if you’re building a low density area, make sure to look at mods for smaller houses, parks, schools etc. I hope this helps! 😁 you’re always welcome to jump in our discord server and we can discuss it with more of us and I can help more 😁

@@bozsiland it’s all your choice, but I’d say, instead of London, make Manchester your main ‘city’ and use places like, firstly what you said, Warrington, and then places like Bolton, Wigan, St Helens and the outskirts of Liverpool. 👍

Thank you! 😁 I'd absolutely love to Mr Fox however, good ol' Steam doesn't allow you to add all assets to one collection. However, this is all of Rik4000's assets that he has made: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1753389203 - this and MacWelshman's assets (steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198025130003/myworkshopfiles/?appid=255710) are 90% of what I use. They both have some handy Collections that you can sub to!
