I have to say how impressive my husband and I were in the quality of work we saw in your show. We can see the care that was taken in this home. I moved from NY to NC and bought a new home already developed. Living in our home for 17 months, we can see the poor quality, the inexperience of workers that were used. I was angry for a long time. I wish I could have you build my home. Great job.

18:00 I work construction traffic control in residential areas, and when I saw this section I couldn't help but thinking, "Wow, that's really sloppy work. Thin asphalt, and it looks like the chipped it out instead of cutting it." Then I realized they were putting in water and it all made sense ... the Water Bureau is always sloppy like that (the roadwork, not the fittings), no matter what state you're in.

If its an entry door, it's Open In because it's a "welcome in" .... if it were to open out, you'd hit your visitor ..same deal if it's an internal door - you go into a room so 'open in' is the norm (especially if you're coming from a hallway). Generally speaking, the only 'open out' doors are closets (& garages -- oh, & those which open out onto a deck etc).

I just thought of another reason - if you live in an area prone to snow, 'open out' doors mean you can get snowed in - at least with an 'open in' door, you can dig your way to freedom, lol)

Growing up here it normal to us. Once in awhile u go into a house. And it will be the other way. Usually we bounce off the door. So use to turning the knob and using your leg to open it. U know us Americans always in a hurry. That slow us up for a second 😂. U think our doors would be the same as yours. Considering most of our ancestors came from across the puddle .
