Even worse joist hangers require hanger nails sized specially for the hangers they don't work with screws , it's a matter of sheer load . Nothing worse than amateur wannabees instructing unskilled homeowners .

Depending on country or state/city you should also include the ways of applying for and getting building permit for any permanent structures!

The quality, and craftsmanship that went into this build is incredible. I’ve seen some homes not built this well. Kudos to all involved on this build. It should last for many years with very little maintenance.

In Germany a concrete foundation makes it mandatory to have a build permit. Without permanent foundation and under 16 square meters its classed as a shed.

I think they know that they'd have to add concrete. My opinion is that this video is more so just a tutorial on how to build.. Maybe doing the concrete part would've taken to long for this video and point that they were trying to prove.

One old tip from a old painter. @ 30:58 you build your own window frame with I assume a piece of glass installed. You assembled the frame then installed the glass. The proper method is to"PRIME" the whole frame completely with a exterior OIL BASED primer... including in the grooves for the glass. Then after a few days of the primer drying and curing...then seal with your chaulking material...then assemble the frame. I would also recommend not using a 100% Silicone in the groove because if some gets on the face of the frame the finish coat of paint will not stick/bond! The finish coat will continually dispurce...the oil primer will give the frame added protection on all sides from any moisture. We used to oil prime exterior facure boards front back and edges for added protection on new construction. Of course today 🙄 😒 money/time is the bottom line. FYI...Das 😎all! ❤👍Nice job guys!👍😎

@@jgrudenicstrumpet4369From my understanding, nails have better shear strength and don't loosen over time. They're also cheaper for residential and large projects. Screws have been vastly improved over time though. It's a matter of preference at this point imo unless stated by code requirements

Screws are WAY stronger than nails Mr America. The reason why your country likes using nails, is because it's cheaper. A nail has NO grip, unlike a screw.
@stanmarr4488
@stanmarr4488 3 ай бұрын
@StrikezGaming infact, nails DO loosen over time. That is supposed to be common sense, since they have no grip unlike a screw. Nails are smooth, which mean, it can not hold onto the wood...therefore...???🤔🤔🤔
@JAIMOUStheFAMOUS
@JAIMOUStheFAMOUS 2 ай бұрын
Screws have good clamping power but lower shear strength, nails have high shear strength, less clamping ability, now u can get screws with a high shear strength so it’s not wrong if u use structural screws rated for it. I use both I use screws to get started then I go back and nail it all off just works for me

Great video on installing on concrete pier blocks! However, one crucial step that often gets overlooked is preparing the ground properly before placing the blocks. It's essential to tamp the soil to ensure it's compact and level, which provides a stable foundation and prevents any future shifting or settling. Proper ground preparation is key to maintaining the integrity and longevity of your structure. Would love to see a detailed explanation or demonstration of this important step in future videos!

Some have said…A gym membership would have been cheaper. But now that it is finished…it belongs to them. They can go anytime to their own personal gym and workout. They don’t have to share or wait for a machine. Sit down in someone else’s sweat because they didn’t wipe the machine down. I think their private gym was a brilliant idea!

While DIY wooden cabin building fosters a sense of accomplishment, are builders aware of the potential consequences of structural deficiencies?

@@summersnow2408Там вполне можно поставить унитаз и умывальник в отдельной кабинки. Только надо подвести воду и вывод сделать в септик.

That's a fallacy. Working is not enough to challenge the body to adapt and grow. To truly have a great physique you do have to work out. Maybe if he was lifting bags of concrete all day then yeah but just lifting little pieces of wood is not going to challenge your body to truly change and be stronger and healthier. I've worked too many manual labor jobs and yeah it can be tiring but it doesn't change your body like a strenuous strength training workout will. Not only does applying that stimulus to the muscle change it but it releases endorphins helping mood and many other things but also strengthens your bones. Everyone should train even if just a couple times a week.
