Smart move. 5 years ago, I rebuilt my 69 Honda MiniTrail. It was a full restore. I decided on a Big Bore kit to up the cc's and a new cam shaft designed for torque. The other thing I did was to go with a smaller front sprocket heavy clutch pack, and a racing carburetor. The end result was a torquey little beast that could easily pull my 290-pound frame around the farm. These little Honda's are pure fun. Congratulations on the build!

Hi Peter, thanks for the comment! Its really cool to hear about your build. Sounds like something that will be similar to mine. They are great bikes, looking forward to getting it built and enjoying it, no plan on selling it at all! I'm after that stock look with the performance benefits. Thanks for watching !

@MasonsWorkshop the Kitaco 88 is lovely, I'm running a new 88 Takegawa R kit now, I've got a soft spot for Kitaco & 108 is superb .I'm running the simul8 spec as you kitaco manual clutch etc , it's plenty fast enough for a standard brake set up .yours will be ace

Like to see the details of the ignition conversion assuming it would run without a battery for my project which is a custom and simplified as much as possible...jf...

Hi there, Yes no battery needed as there is 6v provided from the ignition to run basic system such as lights. Same function as the standard points ignition system but much improved. I would recommend it!
