If you haven't read it - you should try The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson (Flanagan's TV show adaptation is also great - it's very different, but in a way that feels respectful and inspired). It's just the best haunted house story to me. Anyway, hope this comment helps with the algorithm & GL w/ your procedure ✨

@Maraingham i will absolutely give that a read! i've seen the netflix adaptation and Shirley Jackson also wrote We Have Always Lived in the Castle, which is my all-time favorite book. and thank you for the added luck! my mouth definitely hurts but everything went well :)
