I have not commented on this project because I knew it would be the same comments over and over -- wow! great job. I love this!! -- but now that it is completed I can comment. Holy crap!! That is an amazing story!! I can see myself there with my Nikon camera in hand. Saying "Great job!!" is just somehow not enough. Truly amazing.

It may not pertain to trains but again there was so much to learn about scenery! Is that not what we want to learn about? I call it realistic modeling taking the toy look away. You show us the way to get there with the knowledge and tools. Thanks Boomer! The tribute to your brother is a work of art.

Wondering if you would guide me regarding black washing (weathering) of a newly built 1977 Fundimensions C-3PO kit. Do you have an Acrylic, not oil “go to” black wash technique that you might use? If so, do you use a drop of dish wash detergent to help release the static cling of the paint over the surface. Would like it to flow real smoothly along the surface. I tried using several techniques, but did not feel any was worthy to apply to the model as of yet. The model has been can spray painted with Rustoleum's Metallic Gold paint. I want to be able to black wash some of the crevices and/or seams found on the 10” model.

This was a magnificent series - a master class in diorama building. I've enjoyed watching a lot of your videos so far and have learned something useful in each one, but this series just did it for me. I've had a love affair with dioramas since I saw my first museum ones (Los Angeles Museum of Natural History) when I was seven years old - and promptly went home and painted up my Marx Civil War soldiers and made a scene in a shoe box. I've been making small table top dioramas since 2005, but recently I've wanted to go to the shadow box style. Your description of them as "tactile theatre" is brilliant. Thanks for this series - it really is like attending a class and you're a terrific teacher.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with the Diorama. I grew up building them, and then sort of segwayed into model railroading, I still love to build dioramas when I find the time and I hope you pursue it more as well because it is a beautiful art form. Cheers ~ Boomer.

Absolutely amazing, Boomer! This is a conversation piece in your home that no matter how many times someone views it, it's never enough! Have you ever considered a small speaker with the rain and thunder sound playing low in the background? Something like you had playing in the background of the video. That sound just pulls the viewer right into the forrest.

Great work! The wilderness has always been my “happy place”, especially camping & hiking. I haven’t learned to fly fish (yet) - it is still on the “bucket list”! Curious, what would a museum typically pay to have a shadow box of that size done under contract? I’m sure it took a lot of hours to complete (plus all your video editing time).
