I just enjoy the number of people that have no idea why they are watching these tutorials and have no intention to do it but still enjoy it :D I think its just a general interest for building stuff and somehow brings back childhood memories and fascination. Thanks :) It didn't take all that long... I've been doing these dioramas for about 3 years. I basically started when I began this KZbin channel however, I've always been a little artistic and had an interest in models and sculpting for a very long time. As a kid I used to make model aircraft and art and wood tech were among my favorite subjects in high school. Cheers Luke

Thanks for another great video Luke! The Flexi-Stick looks like a fabric pattern ruler my wife has in her sewing room, albeit without the colour patches to make it easier to do the dashed lines. Found some T pins for securing foam in her sewing area a well... wonder what else I can re-home (with her permission, of course: happy wife happy life!).

If you glue some of the models together like the road ones or the ones with rivers in them, I think they’d be at least mildly alike. You’d need to make them specially to be lined up and not look really weird.

The road you made looks exactly the roads I use everyday! Even the patches look good! The forest has the look and feel of a real forest. I plan on making a diorama with a road in it so I will use your techniques and no doubt I will watch this tutorial frequently while I build it. Thanks for the information as it really helps.

Hi, Luke: I'd suggest that the kinds of massive formations one finds in Yosemite are best represented on a painted backdrop. Now if you have any good ideas for Bryce Canyon-type spires and hoodoos, I have to add several to my friend George's layout and am open to suggestions! 8-D

lol, thanks Vikki. It is stop motion, I spent a good few hours making that animation! There are a few mistakes with it but overall it looks pretty good. I used flood lights to illuminate the diorama but unfortunately the very small amount of sunlight leaking through the blinds caused a flickering effect but I guess the flickering kind of adds to the atmosphere of the movie. Hi Vikki, Yeah it took him a whole day (not a few hours) to take so many photos...I know because the garage was so cold so he migrated into our study (where the heater is), did his set up with his lights and shot away...it was beside our computer while I was studying. He puts so much effort to making it perfect for his supporters. It's impressive. Thank you for supporting him :-)

That was something I did to my roads a couple years ago was add cracks and tar lines on the road. I never see anyone do that, and I am glad you did that because it really makes the road look real. Asparagus fern is an interesting way to make trees.

This is amazing! I have started doing a thing like this with a road through a forrest with small mountains. I used grass from my backyard as grass and small candels that i glue together and then put gray paper around them as rocks/small mountains!

This channel relaxes me like so few do nowadays. I'd like to take a crack at some of these dioramas someday myself. Finding the time to do so will be difficult but ultimately rewarding I reckon.

With all the yellow flags it looks like a crime scene. The diorama looks excellent and you always inspire me to do my own. Can't wait until your next post.

Lots of ideas :-) a crime scene diorama would be excellent too. Might have to get a cop car with flashing lights and the crime scene tape with a chalk drawing on the scene or something like that. What fun. But then; would it be an Aussie crime scene or American crime scene?

I've been watching your videos for months, almost a year at this point. And they are so relaxing!!! I don't know why I was never subbed, but I just did! A great way to unwind after a long day of work. Keep making more!! Also, I found it, but dang, that collie is a tough find hahah
