I just enjoy the number of people that have no idea why they are watching these tutorials and have no intention to do it but still enjoy it :D I think its just a general interest for building stuff and somehow brings back childhood memories and fascination. And its nice to know that there are parts of KZbin without negative comments. Great job! Greetings from Germany

Thanks :) It didn't take all that long... I've been doing these dioramas for about 3 years. I basically started when I began this KZbin channel however, I've always been a little artistic and had an interest in models and sculpting for a very long time. As a kid I used to make model aircraft and art and wood tech were among my favorite subjects in high school. Cheers Luke

Thanks for another great video Luke! The Flexi-Stick looks like a fabric pattern ruler my wife has in her sewing room, albeit without the colour patches to make it easier to do the dashed lines. If you glue some of the models together like the road ones or the ones with rivers in them, I think they’d be at least mildly alike. You’d need to make them specially to be lined up and not look really weird.

YES RIGHT?? i thought exactly the same.. this is what youtube should be, a place for people with a talent, a hobby, making good informative videos (and actually taking the time to learn how to edit) that take your breathe away.. not "bathtub challenges" and and stupid pranks.. but weirdly, those people get rich and this here is a rare and hidden diamond inbetween.. but who are we kidding, its the viewers fault..

@BoulderCreekRailroad
@BoulderCreekRailroad 8 жыл бұрын
lol, thanks Vikki. It is stop motion, I spent a good few hours making that animation! There are a few mistakes with it but overall it looks pretty good. I used flood lights to illuminate the diorama but unfortunately the very small amount of sunlight leaking through the blinds caused a flickering effect but I guess the flickering kind of adds to the atmosphere of the movie. I'm glad you enjoyed it :) Cheers Luke

Hi Vikki, Yeah it took him a whole day (not a few hours) to take so many photos...I know because the garage was so cold so he migrated into our study (where the heater is), did his set up with his lights and shot away...it was beside our computer while I was studying. He puts so much effort to making it perfect for his supporters. It's impressive. Thank you for supporting him :-)

You are welcome. It is just action-reaction principle: you made fantastic video so you got back fantastic comment ! :) Great products are not sufficient by themselves without talented people to use them. And my comment is valid for all your other videos as well. But I did not say it before in order to prevent you to get a big head, haha ! ;) It is not by chance that your work got this award (I forgot its name, sorry, and I don't find it back on your site now but I am sure I saw it) ! Cheers ! :) JF

so beautiful. I don't do scale modeling. I do some model airplanes when I have the time, but I have nowhere near the talent to do this but I'm fascinated with your videos. The detail is amazing. Brilliant to watch

The condition of that road is about the same as the roads near me, you actually made that road better by making the surface level too!

I like all your work. Your videos are to the point, clear and easy to follow. Oddly enough, I do not do this hobby. It's just fun to watch talented people perform their craft. I also like your "pre-videos" haha the one with the fence and the cop car! :)

This is amazing! I have started doing a thing like this with a road through a forrest with small mountains. I used grass from my backyard as grass and small candels that i glue together and then put gray paper around them as rocks/small mountains!

This channel relaxes me like so few do nowadays. I'd like to take a crack at some of these dioramas someday myself. Finding the time to do so will be difficult but ultimately rewarding I reckon.

With all the yellow flags it looks like a crime scene. The diorama looks excellent and you always inspire me to do my own. Can't wait until your next post.

Lots of ideas :-) a crime scene diorama would be excellent too. Might have to get a cop car with flashing lights and the crime scene tape with a chalk drawing on the scene or something like that. What fun. But then; would it be an Aussie crime scene or American crime scene?
