so glad to see you again brotha. I'm planning to build a K20/K24 for about 400-500 reliable HP. Meanwhile this engine combo can handle that power at completely stock internals, i would love to see a "budget friendly" piston and rod build for this engine combo!! looking forward to your next few planned vids, keep it up man!

Ayyyy im doing the same haha tryna take a k20a2 to 400 by next year summer. Im thinking of Mahle forged pistons and skunk2 alpha series con rods. Also have heard that piston rings seize so probably gonna swap it for 87mm mahle rings

I feel like the m54b30 platform is severely underrated, having a forged crank and rods from factory, only reason why people get head lift and heavy harmonic vibrations was all small factory mistakes that could be corrected easily on rebuilding. Other than that its a cheap engine for parts, reliable, variable valve timing, a lot of meat on the cams for regrinding, a great platform for springs, pistons, rods, etc. It's basically the reliable cheaper German variant of the 2jz with cam chains instead of belts.

Just a little request… you have an awesome video of how to chose a turbo, but can you make one to chose twin turbos? Would be cool to see it plus would cover more details and differences between singles or twins setups
@MZopyrus3 ай бұрын
It's basically the same thing for twin turbo except you would do the calculations for each cylinder bank. For example if it's a 3.6L V6 engine, you would do the calculations for each 1.8L 3 cylinders of the engine to choose the right turbos
@liquidsweg48582 ай бұрын
On the note of Subaru, if any of you are thinking of doing an NA/T subaru just rather save up for the turbo model or go for the turbo engine conversion, just not worth building up the NA blocks or alternatively you can use a turbo block with your NA heads.

M52b25 out of a 1996 e39 523i. My goal is "street, fun, ready" power( i guess good acceleration at low and mid rpm). Basically want a flatter torque curve thats not too high. Am thinking 300hp is more than enough even 250 is okay, but I really want to invest on torque😂😂
