I like the look of this zoo, seems practical. I like practical and realistic zoos. A lot of people do way too much and it ends up being a mishmash of a bunch of things with tons of impractical paths and guests clipping into things and going into dead ends etc.

I don't know if you've been told this since the episode came out, but Meerkats are matriarchal and there is only one female who will mate with multiple males at any given time. The zoo looks amazing. :)

@deladysigner u have to build normal barriers (2m high i think) under the rocks for example, then the guest will not stand and watch from these points. ;)

i love the whole zoo. it looks really stunning. This entrance is great! i've 2 things in Planet Zoo I'll never be able to do... Terraforming and unterwater viewing spots :D I despair every time... I build it and tear it down 5 minutes later. your underwater viewing is amazing. i'm so jealous! And one thing i saw...is there ANY tipp how i can move non-grid-Items on a straight line? every log/piece you move is on a straight line. i put for example one beam down and want to copy it to the other site from the house...press x and EVERYTIME!!!! i can move it diagonally and i have to move foreward and sidewards to line it up. Sometimes i can fix it with merch 2 into a group but if there aren't perfectly lined...the whole beamwork won't be on spot... this drives me crazy. I'm building at this moment on a Bear Habitat for the Contest from Frontier and i've spend 2 hours and more only on beamwork for 1 building.

I think my how to make a dome tutorial is useful for you if you like to see how it works, but if not, then the trick is to always make sure to first align the beam or something on a straight wall with the align to surface option and make sure you have angle snapping on so you can rotate the beam straight up for example :) then you know it will always be perfectly straight and you can move it to somewhere else :)

​@@DeLadysigner So...after the next 20 hours of building. it works...sometimes...sometimes the game is just weird. you copy one thing over and it's not in the right angle. i figured out how to fix it for me most of the time. you have do delete/rightclick the wished item and select it new. after this, the angle is perfect. Oh! Aaaaand. i built an unterwater viewing today. The first one i don't want to delete! But...i wached this video 3-4 times to see how you should do this! So THANK YOU

Hi lady i just wanted to ask if you have any tips for colouring the faux rocks because my rocks are a bit unaturaly yellow however when i tone it down the tinyest bit it turns into the grey preset kind of colour if you dont know thats fine and also loved this episode cant wait to see the zoo grow!

Yes! Go to the workshop and search for "faux rocks" 😊 this will give you a blueprint with faux rocks colored the same as the natural ingame rock colors which are super useful! I simply use this all the time and only sometimes adjust the base color of them 😅 Also white cracks (second color) for some reason does really well for the looks of the faux rocks.. I really dont know why or what that is but it looks good 😃

Delady, you actually don’t have to go to the entrance to change the ticket price. Just go to the tab called “Zoo” at the bottom and you should see ticket prices there. You can change the ticket price and it will be immediately applied to all entrances of the Zoo. Hope this helps 😅

Well, designing habitats for real zoo is a whole different level of creativy and especially rules when it comes down to safety and such.. I don't think we will ever get close to that part of realism in the game :D

The meerkats have an alpha pair. Only the alpha pair mates and has babies.

Actually, but correct me if Im wrong, I think they only have an alpha female and according to the zoopedia the male will fight her and if he wins then mates with her or something.. lol. Dominance in zoopedia says: Alpha female in matriarchal society :) Definitely need to read into this more in the next series as its super interesting but I always forget and am not a huge fan of reading when seeing long walls of text, lol..

@@DeLadysigner You may be right. I know in the wild they indeed do have an alpha female who chooses one particular male to mate with, in essence making him the alpha male. It is the female who chooses though, not the male. Males that want to mate leave their colony for extended periods of time to find unrelated females. In the wild, this does cause other females in the colony to become pregnant, they just tend to get kicked out of the colony when they do so, essentially killing the pups and sometimes the mother. Though I think that's a bit too dark to put in a zoo game. I always place only one male and one female and keep some of the babies to fill up the habitat, but replace them all with a new breeding pair when needed.

@@lindabroer8995 i have the game open atm and not sure what is darker 😅: to initiate mating a male will fight with alpha female, and she will attempt to fight back. Fighting can be rough with grabbing and face nipping. If the male wins he will grab the female round the middle and mate with her. After 60 to 70 days female will give birth to pups. Lol.. that uuuuh... sounds pretty much like unwilling mating if you ask me 👀 (trying to pay attention to mu wording here in the comments but ya know what I mean 😬)
