We needed a new cargo terminal for the SSTO Space Program, so I thought this one might do. Station dry mass: 1000 tons, when full with cargo: 12500 tons. It needs parts from Umbra Space Industries mods. I hope you'll like it, you're great guys I love you!

Then I guess I did a good job because I was totally trying to recreate its looks. I even had a working hangar at some point, but even with tweakscale it turned out to be too part heavy and I had to scrap it.

This was like a pretty big Space Station. So we got to remember we got to start building our ships in space. We got to have a Star Wars Galactic War. Space Station million people on board we have to just keep building. Something is 10 miles long. Maybe even three times that.

Nice..I'd have saved on the part count by stripping out a lot of the RCS and using a tugboat in orbit to dock all the station parts. Thumbs up for blowing up the pad on launch too..Always nice when your monstrosity obliterates the pad on lift off. :)

No, I don't think he needed that. But I bet he used the Konstruction mod & Konstruction docking ports an then used KIS and some kerbals on EVA to disassemble the RCS thrusters once the station was built.

thats actually not a half bad idea(the vehicle you used to transport the parts). it could work irl if it had a sort of chamber to store the parts in that would make it more aerodynamic.

WOW. Those launches are amazing! Particularly the "Off center" one. How the heck did you balance that truss with the round tanks for launch? Is the big "U" shaped structure for docking ships like the Flame Leviathan securely with multiple docking ports? Or multiple smaller ships (like the "Bug") for transfer of cargo modules to and from the larger ships?

It is for docking large ships like Kharon and Flame Leviathan, but I don't think they will dock with multiple docking ports. I just wanted to have more than one large docking port on the station, so you could technically dock three smaller ships there or one extra huge.

I wonder how accurate is that whole thing in terms of friction if applied to the real world? The reusable construct looks like it should break apart when reentering the atmosphere.

It definitely should. Unfortunately KSP does not allow multiple parents for any given part (meaning that you can't make a closed frame) so the only way to get around that is by using struts of different kind. It adds sturdiness to your creations but takes away realistic looks quite often.
