Having a career of nearly 40 years in carpentry I have the following advice for you: Don't take any advice, do it how you want! Great to watch father and son working together having fun, priceless! Keep at it and we'll keep watching.

I love how you convey it is all more about spending time together than the build. Stopping every day for a proper cooked meal and all. Jealous of the bonding. Keep it up.

I love that a father & son bonded with the build of that little cabin, And I especially loved how you two made the fencing very clever, however one thing I noticed that was missing in your bonding moments, was the complete lack of verbal communication! But I did love the message at the end, life is short for that there is no doubt, I lost my father 2 years ago and I think about those moments we spent together everyday! And one thing I miss the most is the conversations we had between us both. please add some of that in your next video! 😎👍🇺🇸

There is nothing wrong with a little alcohol in moderation. It's the same as caffeine, too much will easily mess you up, but it's still perfectly fine to consume a little at a time. I would be more concerned if I saw three or four bottles, compared to the one I can find in this video. Two grown men sharing a single bottle isn't likely to be an issue at all.

That looks like so much fun. Thanks for the tutorial on squid prep. The squid we catch off the pier here are much smaller and mostly only used for bait. Technically, they don't have a spine or backbone; they are INvertebrates. That amazing thing that serves as a backbone (sort of) is, I believe, the cuttlebone. Squid, like their close relatives cuttlefish and octopuses, are classed as cephalopods and are on an entirely different main branch (so to speak) of the phylogenetic tree of life from vertebrates like us. When we dissected a cuttlefish in Lab, I split the pointy end like the nib of a pen and used its ink to write. It sort of worked but was very cumbersome.

I just found your channel, and I must say, I am impressed with all this. I had squid only once in a gumbo and hated it cause as you said, I think it tasted rubbery (cooked too long?) . I do however love lobster and crab. Good meat. Shrimp, is great too. Your pallet cabin is PERFECT for my chicken coop cause I need something that will not cost me a dime to make and a sturdy build for at LEAST a year or two. Watching this inspired me to go out and get the pallets and start building. I noticed also you didn't use a lot of electric tools, which is also nice cause I don't have any of those. Off grid is definitely what I am for that. Thank you for showing me how to make a work horse out of the wood branches, we just so happen to have some around here. Very helpful to me, would have not thought of that if you guys didn't post this. I do hope you post more of these adventures you have, they are pretty cool indeed!
