Nice job, steel and wood a great combo, and for a good cause, for those folks who don't yet have TIG, its a great process for some parts of a project like this as the welds are lower profile than MIG, and can avoid the hassle of grinding flush in internal corners. Top piece of work.

If anybody knows, how is the metal beam(or whatever it's called) that he's using, made? I mean the one with the L shaped cross section. He used it to make the whole frame, but what I wanna know is how the beam itself is made or how the metal is bent that way
@aprillawless47465 жыл бұрын
It's called L angle
@TimArland2 жыл бұрын
Looks great! Did you grind all of the mill scale off before you used the metal stain? I would assume so but it's hard to tell
@BrandonLund2 жыл бұрын
@Tim Arland I've done it both ways. I did for this one. Surprisingly the stain holds up a little better with the mill scale on vs off

Hi Brandon, What type of router bit do you use to make the wood flush with the steel? Loving your channel, your steel and wood pieces are my favorite
@BrandonLund4 жыл бұрын
I was using a "straight carbide tipped" bit. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
@joshuamaroney2881 Жыл бұрын
what's the best way to cut those 45's in that angle?
@BrandonLund Жыл бұрын
A metal cutting chop saw if you have access to one. If not you can do it with a grinder or even a plasma cutter if you have a steady hand
@gordon43856 жыл бұрын
Wow, great tig/MIG welding project! If I'm not mistaken, this is the first video that you haven't used MIG exclusively, right?
@BrandonLund6 жыл бұрын
Gordon Reiher Spot on brother! I really enjoy tig but sometimes I get impatient because mig is so much faster but in reality it probably works out the same because there is no spatter cleanup with tig

Brandon do you like the smart stain from Sculpt Nouveau? I've used their black magic but it seems like it would be hard to use on a project like this. I'm thinking I may have to try the smart stain. Great build as usual!
@BrandonLund6 жыл бұрын
Jimbo's Welding Shop Aka: The humble welder thank you very much! I love the smart stain. A little goes a long ways. I found if you grind to bare metal it doesn't seem to adhere as well compared if you just wiped down the metal with laquer thinner and wiped on the stain.

Why tig one half then mig the rest tig can run into lots of money.
@BrandonLund4 жыл бұрын
Because I dont tig often and it's a skill you need to keep doing if you want to improve.
