I don't think you need to worry about keeping your ideas that much of a secret. The idea is the easy part, the hard part is execution and finding users. In any case, best of luck with your project! 😊

In my experience, the hardest part of doing your own side projects is to stay motivated. After a work day and then start doing your own thing is hard. But, what helps me is to visualize your final goal or product and seeing the excitement of just "kicking competition". Being able to get very early feedback from potential users is also super motivating. At the end, it's all about people on what you create. Get that feedback, get some loyal users who can help you stay motivated and you will be able to achieve your goal. Stay close to your vision.

Agreed. Especially if you don't have a like-minded partner (or partner(s)). I've started a lot of side-projects, and rarely made any real progress. And none of my efforts produced any income, but I'm always hopeful (like a pathetic gambler).

Love the balance you've got going on! It's really inspiring to see how you're pursuing your project idea alongside your full-time job. Can't wait to see how your MVP turns out!

I can assure you that your idea has already been "thought of," analyzed, and likely implemented by someone else. Remember - an idea is nothing; execution is everything... Anyway, I wish you the best of luck with your project!

This is true, and very few apps have global reach anyway. She mentioned a market for tradespeople. That exists in the UK with Taskrabbit. But it clearly hasn’t stopped those Czech entrepreneurs, because it likely doesn’t exist in the Czech Republic.

I completely agree, it definitely always comes down to execution. Thanks for the best of luck (:

From quite a rich experience, I can 100% confidently say that the pure "idea" isn't worth anything, there's close to zero chance anyone would bother building your idea.
@muhammadshafiqsafian61499 күн бұрын
execution is key. u can draft detail ideas with detail execution plan, they wont run it.
@wadexyz18 сағат бұрын
Agreed, but considering she's just starting, I think it would be bad karma to disclose it on KZbin at the inception phase. You know people would just trash the idea in the comments anyway.

The 'no meetings day' get 3 thumbs up from me! Excellent idea! Just stating the obvious; you might need to check your contract regarding starting own projects or businesses, some companies only allow it if it's not competing with their business, but some companies do not allow any other business or forms of income at all.

Love the video and looking forward for more! Regarding your JIRA tickets: it‘s best to have a finished ticket as a reference. This allows everyone to compare any new ticket to the reference-ticket and estimate how much time/complexity the new story/task might take. Hope this helps you in any way :)
@CoNaana8 күн бұрын
Storypoints are abstract and an estimation, this has always been difficult to understand for those trying to keep track of deliverables (stakeholders, project managers etc). What I'm trying to say is that no one is good at assigning story points. Sometimes the only way to get accurate estimate is to do the task and then report it ;)

I kind of like writing tests, but its more like the whole methology, which includes structuring the code for optimal testing; based on what test method you want/need to use. But then I am a s/w engineer for (non)deterministic distributed systems and embedded systems and its a bit different, less user interfaces for one.

I too find it hard to estimate my Jira expected Completion times. As some simple projects , can end up the most complicated. Or some aspects could be delayed by say a Database teams or others etc. Over estimating seems the the best way , then project completion if early looks good.

Whereas you should be mindful of intellectual property, sharing your idea with others, especially those with relevant expertise, can provide valuable feedback. You might discover flaws in your concept, identify potential challenges, or gain insights that you hadn't considered.

Just try it. Once do you have some savings and just go on! I am really working on development more hard skills into cloud native application, I really like to work with low level latency mainly because for the first time of my life I am working with a huge project in the scale of millions of request and hybrid architecture limitation in reason of compliance.

I don’t think I’ve ever estimated correctly. I really do not like the practice. It might have to do with the fact that at my first job a long time ago our lead used to share our estimates with clients (no idea what he was thinking) which resulted in us devs having to justify why we went over our estimations. Explaining technical hurdles to someone that barely knows how to operate a computer worked out really well. I quit that job soon after.

Idea is worth nothing. Idea is worth exactly 0 euros and 0 cents. Everyone has ideas and they are all worth nothing =) What really has value is execution and implementation. When VCs invest in a project they never invest in an idea. Never. They invest in the people. When the company buys a startup - they never invest in the idea of a startup. They buy their customers and what's more important - they buy the team that can execute on any idea. All the best with your adventures!

No, you absolutely should always advertise your ideas. One thing is certain -your so-called 'unique' mind isn't as special as you think. The sooner you pull your head out of your ass, the sooner you’ll start achieving greatness. - David Ogilvy and Steve Jobs.
