Monday, August 5, 2019. Last night, Sunday, I started watching this video kind of late and I found it so interesting seen these two guys Jake and Nicole starting to build the kind of Mongolian Yurt, though more stylish and using pretty good wood, maybe Birch which is a hard durable wood used for building houses in places with lots of rain, changes in temperature, etc. rough ecosystems. Well, the video got so interesting that I kept watching for a long time, I stopped to go to bed at about 2:00 am and today Monday the first thing I did when I turned on my PC was to finish the video and I got very good feelings from it. Finally, I saw the Yurt completely built and Jake and Nicole happy. Congratulations!!! Thanks for this fine video!!!

Don't sell yourself short, my dad worked until 80, moving furniture, warehousing in the end, still a hard job, despite still smoking and having spent a good chunk of his life drinking. Cancer took him down and out quite quickly. Otherwise he'd still probably be driving himself to work everyday.. a lot of the game is who we tell ourselves we are, and thereby often define our limits... much of the limitation is in our heads.. but we still get rusty ☺

Team Nicole! You guys are crazy cool! Thank you much. Nicole clearly understands that to really nail em, you have to be one with the nail, you have to think like a nail- what does the nail want? What does the nail need? What would make the nail happy? The nails wants to be one with the wood. The nail needs you to hammer it hard, and if you want to make the nail happy hit the nail like you mean it- don't screw around with it. It ceratainly doesnt hurt to kiss the nail. Try sleeping with the nail and if you want to be tough as nails, you have to eat a nail every now and again.

Awesome yurt; great job! I just recalled an old trick I once saw many years ago. Pre-soak ur nails in motor oil. Ur nails will glide in when u reduce the frictional force. Iron-wood is one tough specy!! Great with hard maple and oak.

Finally a Real couple, doing Real activities and showing Real progress....whether productive and correct the first time or not. I'm honestly blown away at the quality, materials and what appears to be, a fairly easy build/ install. Looks like an extremely enjoyable project to complete together. You two definatly have outstanding patience... as a professional Arborist, I've had my fair share of lot clearing projects and when I saw you both start clearing all the saplings with loppers....I couldn't even imagine. Lastly with all due respect, you've got one of those wives that are one in a million my man. All smiles, laid back, phenomenal physique and so adorable. My wife.... exactly the same minus the true nature and outdoor spirit of yours. If it's wooded, all natural and amongst other wildlife (yes, insects tooo) forget it... she would've bailed hour one. Anyway, very nicely done n all around impressive ! If this didn't inspire you to one day build a yurt , what will. Lastly, what is the radius or usable sq.ft and approx cost of that beautiful structure ?

You are living my dream I always wanted to live in a roundhouse in the middle of a field growing my own produce. As I am watching this video for the second time. Please, Please do not use a step ladder that is not high enough in the future, or you would be safer if you erected scaffolding first but you may say that time was not in your favor. You are young so try to put your health and safety first what will Nicole do if anything happens to you. I was told in my youth never climb a ladder better pay someone else to do that remember you have your whole life ahead of you, do not take a un-necessary risk but if you need to take a risk take care of yourself. My favorite pass time is watching people building and I love the way you took on building your future home together without the necessary skills but learning as you go on, something I always have done on my youth. A good example of commonsense and logic can achieve your goals. Try to add your videos together in order of your work publish so when I lookup I can have continuous videos one after another, so many times I lose interest as I can not find to follow every video that is made.

You can find Pacific Yurts up and down the Oregon Coast in the state parks. I have stayed in one many times and love them. It would be awesome to have one of my own like this. What a wonderful location. Best of luck to you both!
