It's finally time for Pa Mac to add a few finishing touches to his new workshop, hang his tools up, and settle in to this old fashioned pole barn, made with homemade lumber using a chainsaw mill. This 6th installment of the Building a Pole Barn series is the 12th episode which brings to an end volume one of The Farm Hand's Companion Show. A great video for showing the ins and outs of building a barn.
Be sure and subscribe to the Farm Hand's Companion channel to keep up with the progress as Pa Mac takes an undeveloped piece of property and turns it into a small subsistence farm. Watch for new episodes as often as Pa Mac can crank 'em out and still run a small farm. (As long as he's alive and kicking, he's most assuredly farming and filming!)
Also visit www.farmhandsco... to find articles, posts, photographs, and encouragement for today's self-sufficient farm or homestead.

That pole barn is a priceless treasure, it represents a part of early rural America and shows how many of us lived our lives not all that long ago. Watching that video brought back many fond memories of growing up on the old homestead. I'm hoping you make another video soon.

I agree. My grandpa used this style barn. It is a great barn. I studied barn books and designs forever. I finally picked this old style. It is still the best, imo.

Awesome video. My 9 year old (the baby of 4) and I love doing wood working projects with the old tools of yesterday. She was telling me "daddy we have one of those, and a bracer and drill. Wonder if he has any jack or scrub planes". (We just bought and refurbished them is why she knows. It was turkey a pleasure and I enjoyed your shows to no end. This Texan tips his at to you dear sir and his daughter Aspen gives her most humble respect and admiration.

Thank you, Pa Mac, for making these wonderful videos. You know, KZbin is full of such utter nonsense, that it is both refreshing and inspiring to see someone take pride in not only the videos they produce (that'd be you, btw) but in the work the videos are capturing. I'm a father of 4 daughters, and my wife and I are working towards purchasing land in Idaho in the next few years so that we can start our own homestead. Your pole barn is the inspiration for what I plan to do once we're on property. The barn is the 1st project! Once again, thank you for allowing to see into your world, and I'd love to see what else goes on in your homestead. The day to day life fascinates and inspires me. God bless, and see you down the road! Jason
