I think the important thing you've done is identify the type of riding you want to do, the terrain you're doing it on, the distance you'll be riding, and tailored the bike and your mod choices to that. I totally understand the impulse but the problem people run into with adventure bikes is wanting them to do everything perfectly, which is manifestly impossible.

@@bseidem5112 Very good suggestion, I made a video and asked for suggestions on what could be my next bike. Over 500 recommendations so far, and one of the most suggested bikes is the 690/701. Have tried a similar build but the problem with adventure riding is the constant compromises. To big and heavy=no fun off road, to small and light=no fun on longer trips and bad at carrying luggage. Both on my longer trips to Asia/Africa and my normal adventure riding here in Sweden is the ability to go longer distances is important. The concept of a super light adventure bike just didn’t work out for me. Broken subframes, to much maintenance, short range and not especially fun to ride on fast forest roads. And with my luggage for a week long trip the bike got pretty heavy anyway. I have a two stroke enduro bike that I can take in my van when I what to ride hard enduro or motocross. But for adventure riding my old Ktm 990 adventure is the weapon of choice. Btw, thanks for the great content👍

@BrakeMagazine11 ай бұрын
I mean, you can probably ride three days comfortably on 350, maybe 5 at a push if you’re using good oil. You’ll get further out of a big engine like a 500, but you’re gonna have to change oil. The volume is low and the engine are high performance really. They’re great short adv ride bikes but not as good long distance. There is a good blog, Moto Hobo who did a lot on a 500.
