Building and Sequencing Submodels in xLights 2017

Vey helpful video! Thanks! Question - Can you create groups of the same sub models from different props? In you example if you set all your snowflakes w the same sub models, could you make a group to drop an effect on all “legs” for instance? Or do you have to drop the effect on each “leg” sub model? I’d like to break my outlines to vertical and horizontal so I can have different things going on vertically and horizontally.

I notice that your pattern on these snowflakes will be couter-clockwise. I've always found that using a clockwise setup works best. It seems like there are a lot of effects that default to clockwise. What have you found? Does it really make any difference? I suspect that the most important point would be to be consistent in your whole layout and for the sequencer (person) to be aware of the direction of the wiring of props.

Jim Nealand That is how the client set up the flake. I do clock wise as well.

I want to learn how to make groups or models. All I seem to be able to make is straight pixel entry’s. How do you build all those groups?

Ctrl + Left Click to select the models you want in a group. Then right click, Create Group

Jon Harper Well, 2016 about this time, sub models came out. I thought the same. I waited till this year to learn about them. Took me around 30 minutes to do this. Would have been less if I wasn't explaining how as I went.
