A huge thumbs up, for the choice of music, for this video. Classical is perfect to build to... allowing the modeler to retain focus, and concentration, while relaxing the mind. Bravo! I wish that other modeling videographers would catch on to this particular enhancement. I enjoyed your build video very much. Thank you for including the information on the various colors chosen, to paint the model with. This too, was of immeasurable help.

I which Bandai had chosen a larger scale for this. It would be so fun to make this at 1/350th.
@npc68175 жыл бұрын
doesn't fit in with the other bandai star wars scales and it's not as marketable to be worth an exception like an x-wing, the only way they could make it would be to make a whole new line but then stuff like a 1/350 star destroyer would be unsellable

Your videos have been incredibly helpful to me to develop my technique! I recently picked up Bandai's 1/144 scale X-Wing, and I was astounded by the amount of fine detail on such a small surface. Your method of preshading worked amazingly well to bring out the details. I've kind of fallen in love with the smaller scale ships as cheap ways to build a fleet of unique rebel fighters; they're essentially a blank canvas for you to customise as you see fit!

For some reason this video came back up in my feed even though I already watched it last year sometime. I had been wanting this kit even though most of my other kits are 1/72 because I actually wanted to display it next to my 1/1000 Star Trek models. I do this with my 1/350 Falcon next to my 1/350 K'Tinga battlecruiser. The K'Tinga is much larger than the Falcon as you'd expect. Anyway, I hopped onto ebay to see what these are going for now and spotted a Bandai lot sale that included the blockade runner but also the super star destroyer, death star II, and star destroyer (last two are actually the separate packagings) with a set of decals to make the destroyer look like Thrawn's ship. All for the price of a blockade runner and the death star II. Free shipping. Can't wait to have this baby sailing on the side of the Enterprise opposite the Botany Bay!

Having bought the 1:5000 scale Star Destroyer after watching your video i purchased the Bandai Death Star II- Star Destroyer kit....both are now complete and look great. Next up i bought the Revelli Tie Fighter which, following your videos looks superb on my shelf unit. This model, the Blockade Runner is next on my list..!!

You have to consider the size of the ship and scale the chipping and burn effects on the thrusters accordingly.
@modelchili5 жыл бұрын
You also have to consider the size of the model and the detail you want to see from a distance.
@anonymoose16495 жыл бұрын
@@modelchili, I'm not getting the sense in your reply. All I'm saying is considering the size that that ship is, some of those "chips" are bigger than ships like the millennium falcon. At that point, we're not talking about paint chipping, we're talking about hull damage. Hull damage would be repaired and freshly painted. Anything smaller like meteor and debris would be deflected by the shields. Maybe I'm just going into ultra nerdy depth about it, but I think a lot of people just go overboard with "chipping" without consideration for what it is that it's being applied to. These larger ships are incredibly well maintained and it's just not necessary.
@modelchili5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know all that. I did an exaggerated paint job for the purposes of demonstration and because I wanted to, that's all there is to it really. But your comments are appreciated!

The 1/1000 is fine, but only if we could get the other ships of the line in the same scale. A nebulon-b and maybe a republic cruiser would be obvious to do. Something like a ISD and mc80 would be insanely huge at that scale. A ssd would not fit in most homes....

Looks good, though the black wash looks a bit overpowering, imo - especially at this tiny scale. I would have put either less of it, or maybe tried a dark gray for the wash instead, thus making the panel lines appear 'thinner'.

It was actually light grey wash! But yeah fair point.
