The ship is much bigger in the interior. This cut-out was not a good job it was a horrible design with no thought to scale. Where are all the hallways that storm troopers and rebels had to fight down? Seriously you think it took that many troopers that long to hunt Leia down if this was what the interior actually looked like? This was a real lazy attempt at drawing the interior of the ship. - If it is such a good design, show me where the crew quarters are for the 40+ crew. Not only quarters but facilities, Galley, Dining, Storage plumbing. He said that there are over 100 Passengers in this video, where are the passenger quarters? facilities? dining? Most of these cutouts are huge hallways. Those 4 cylinders cannot be the escape pods, even if that is directly from some Lucas official explanation. The scale is all wrong. They are more likely cargo containers.

I remember reading somewhere that the model and design of the Tantive 4 was originally supposed to be the Millennium Falcon during the early production of the movie. Later the Millennium Falcon was redesigned to be the iconic style he all know and love today and this model was then repurposed as Leia's ship in the opening scene. It's why the model for the Tantive was much larger and more detailed than the physical models they used for the Star Destroyer because they assumed they were going to need it for more scenes.
@technomikelyons3 жыл бұрын
Yes it was because "Space: 1999" came out on TV, and it was realized that the original Falcon model looked too much like the Eagle. So they designed a new Millennium Falcon, and the original model became the familiar blockade Runner, Tantive IV.

This is a fictional word in a fictional universe. And it has been verified as TAN-ta-VEE . I can't imagine it any other way, saying TAN-tive is jarring. Saying it the correct way actually gives it a bit of elan and grace. There are many instances where words in English end in e and it is not silent. Me free anime karaoke pedigree cafe more (as in customs) coffee applique fiance gefilte ladke sortie soiree puree Porsche namaste Cherokee Chile filigree protege risque resume. And Wookiee. Some of these words are foreign sourced, but that does not mean they are not also English words that have been assimilated in day-to-day life and correct pronunciation. It's even more prevalent in proper nouns like people's names. (Jesse Renee Dante Cece Kanye.) How do we know the first king of Alderaan was not named Tantive ? This is a settled matter, it has been confirmed, in Cannon, that the way it was pronounced in the Star Wars radio drama and innumerable audio books and games is correct. Many of us used to say CorusKant, even George Lucas did, before the silent c pronunciation was resolved for episode 1. I stopped pronouncing it that way. It is a virtue to admit when you are wrong and to adjust one's behaviour accordingly. We also know what the Star Wars is not follow normal American pronunciation, typical grammar or spelling for many words, Alderaan Wookiee Coruscant Tatooine etc.
@joshpotter92613 жыл бұрын
@@Jack_Stafford nah the "verification" is wrong. Just because other people violate phonetics doesn't mean you should. Tan-ta-veeee eye veee is cringe and wrong, even if "they" think it's right. I still can't believe how in depth the star wars universe is .... absolutely mind blowing 🤯
@Mimonsi3 жыл бұрын
I feel like the ship's height being 49m and length being 129 doesn't really fit here - it looks way longer - but maybe that's just perspective. I was positively surprised by a real voice over this time, it was way more engaging and relaxing.

Yeah..It was a mistake to use text-to-speech but lesson learned.

The Tantive IV is a CR90 corvette which are typically150m in length. However the officially stated length of the Tantive IV is 126m, so it is a customized, shorter version of the corvettes we typically see elsewhere in universe.
@chrissonofpear13843 жыл бұрын
@@Daedric16 Possible. Some stats say 492 ft / 150 metres, others say 415 ft and 7 inches (126.67 m) Either way, the INTENT is that the ROTS version/CR70, be 20 percent shorter, I think.

2:40 it's impossible that the ship is 49 meters high one of those measurements must be wrong if it was like that, then the lenght would be only 2.5 times bigger than the height and the ship, and it looks much longer than that for scale, imagine this if there was another Tantive IV facing down, with these measurements, the engine's height would be from the radar on top of the ship to the engines on the right that looks way too tall
@Angry.General14613 жыл бұрын
That's a lot of engines for that size of a ship! It doesn't seem that energy efficient running all of those at once!

Thank you! You pronounced the "e"! The first time the name was ever spoken it was in the adaptation of A new Hope to a radio drama, and that's how it was pronounced: Tan-ti-vee Four. Just about every other KZbinr who mentions it drops the "e" and pronounces it like "Tantiv".
@Halfscreen3 жыл бұрын
At first, I thought it was pronounced Tan-Tive, but I have to watched several videos on KZbin to confirm.

I don't think you understand how big this ship was. It's longer than a full space shuttle on its belly, and taller than the tallest rocket booster, SuperHeavy, this thing is fucking MASSIVE!!

I wonder how 100 passengers can fit in.. and the top speed of this ship is only 950 KM/ hr is kind of slow, comparing to a f16 fighter jet with 1,500MPH today.

exactly what i was thinking, that ship would have to be nothing but beds to accommodate for 100 passengers (and 40 crew)
