I recently built my first AR-10 (actually an Aero Precision M5) in .308 Win using one of your barrels (18" Tactical Hunter) and I couldn't be happier. The gun runs beautifully, and the accuracy is well beyond my expectations; it'll shoot right with my bolt guns and better than some of them. I've gotten well below MOA with FGM 175 gr., FGMM 168 gr., and with a few 150 gr. factory hunting loads. The gun loves Federal Fusion 150 gr. and has taken quite a few deer, hogs, and even a few turkeys (neck shots on the turkeys). This has become my favorite rifle that I own, Thanks WC!

Kudos to this sound mixer and editor lol. Recording audio in an operational machine shop is no joke

Being a machinist I very much appreciate this video. It's a shame more detail isn't shown of the actual process of machining and inspection but, I understand they don't want to show their competitors any of the proprietary processes. Thanks for sharing. Be safe! Randy

Brother making 6s and 9s is the same all around the world. Been cranking handles and making chips since I was in my uncles shop at 14. I have made numerous barrels and numerous golf ball cannons. Been a prototype machinist for 15 years now. Love it.

About a year ago I picked up a 16” fluted 7.62x40wt barrel from you guys. I wanted something with the benefits of 300 blackout for farm work and some whitetail hunting (common .308” projectiles, plentiful brass, standard mags, etc.), but with better case capacity and less bullet jump, twist rate for 125ish grain supers. I was absolutely blown away by the accuracy on that barrel. Even the first break in shots were sub moa, and I’m just using a cheap Lee powder measure with lake city brass and Speer tnt projectiles, none weight sorted or anything. To be honest, it kinda pissed me off a tad haha. Been trying to dial in my “precision” 20” 308 for a few years and this carbine outshot it right off the bat. I think I’ll be replacing that 308 barrel soon as well haha.

Wow, interesting. How often, does the button machine “drill” bit have to be changed? Thanks for posting....

There must be much more that goes into making a Barrel than what there showing in this Video, or so I would think.

How does one go about becoming a "Master Firearms Instructor"? What separates a "Master" from a "regular" firearms instructor? Honest question.

Is wilson combat the same company as wilson arms? Does wilson combat make the stainless steel barrels palameto state armory uses?

I know that my Recon is a fine shooter, it also has a single stage trigger that is better than some custom bolt guns.

Are your barrels hand lapped? I’ve noticed your barrels are 6R, any plans to having a 5R in the near future. Finishing my AR10 build and still debating on the barrel.

How about a video on making magazines? Or is that work farmed out?

Perhaps I missed it or just didn't understand, but how do they cut out the locking lug recesses/"star chamber"?
@Ccorniit
@Ccorniit 4 жыл бұрын
Mockturtlesoup1 If I`m not mistaken that thing is called barrel extension and it is separate part. So those lugs are not machined to the barrel blank.

Is copper fouling and smashed reamed chip normal on your barrels? Just received my 6.8 SPC II barrel and had a smashed reamer chip on breach lip and oxide copper fouling.

No, that is most certainly not normal at all. Please send an email to info@wilsoncombat.com and one of our customer service professionals will be happy to help resolve the issue.

Have to hand it to the marketing department. To make customers want to pay 6 times retail for a handgun is no easy task 😷

So you believe the EDC/ SFX series of pistols is only worth $350-$400? By comparison, a Taurus G3/G4 sells for $250-$300. GTFOH bro. You get what you pay for. Buy a Hi Point and be done with it already cheapo.

Wilson's too small to afford a hammer forging machine?
@Treblaine
@Treblaine 4 жыл бұрын
Hammer forging is great if you always want to make the exact same type of barrel every time but the market doesn't want only one type of barrel. They want different lengths, different thickness, fluted/unfluted, different twist and so many other factors. Hammer forging is also generally for polygonal rifling when the demand is for land+groove rifling.
