Fair play Kieran. Love seeing lads progressing. Enough people to put a man down nowadays. Nice to see the excitement on you.

Best of luck Kieran. Be no harm having agitation points at each end and one in the middle if you can. Fine tank all taking shape now.

You have made a lot of progress already. Can hardly wait to see the storage tank and the parlour going in. Docks are a real pain.

Looks good. Only thought is that would tractor scraping the passages make more sense and be cheaper also as it’s straight into the tank wouldn’t take too long?

Fair play to u and taking the jump into dairy I'm a calf to beef farmer with a full time job and for years I'm on d fence to go to dairy but I'm afraid to give up a good job with steady income and not be underpressure for an income from the farm
@jjdeere26506 ай бұрын
Id put agitation point at both ends,when you have the stone it would be easy to build up to it,keep up the good work

Agitation point will have to be be at each end as you'll have to roof the tank before the end of 27 and you can't have agitating point indoors nowadays, but maybe tank being done a few years before the roof might allow it

Great to see it coming along Kieran would you consider putting a row of cubicles in the new shed and calving the cows in one of the old cubicles, be more sheltered for calves ? Just a thought if you were buying the cubicles anyway
@Andy-ix2ox6 ай бұрын
I would be inclined to agree with this comment, it is also a good bit airyer for a stock of cows.

Are you goin to run the costs
@andrewhough87576 ай бұрын
Great to see the progress, i would be interested to know how many cubicles you could get in your new open shed, seems a lot lighter for milking cows, easier to observe them etc, also a feed fence already there etc ?
@johncorley59516 ай бұрын
Great progress Kieran, am trying to get a 2 bay shed up & going , 12foot 6 slat, but costs I'm getting back are mental , can get 40% grant but it's away off that, what u think ?
@sullivansfarm6 ай бұрын
I stayed away from the grant - too much hassle. It can take 18-ish months to get planning and TAMS approval, and then grant spec materials are more costly
@johnobrien2956 ай бұрын
Making headway. Any sump in tank?
@paulmalone45876 ай бұрын
Super tank . Did u go down the grant route
@sullivansfarm6 ай бұрын
No I didn’t go for the grant. See comment below. Too much hassle. Too much of a delay. And not much money saved on a job like this.
@paulmalone45876 ай бұрын
Thanks . Planning building a new tank and shed . It’s hard to know if to go with the grant or not
@tomotoole72416 ай бұрын
Fine tank 100ft if you had agitating slat in the middle you would be able to agitate right and left with out having to move
@AM-ej9lh6 ай бұрын
Agitating points have to be on the outside of the shed for safety

Great vid. Great to see your plans coming together 🫱🏻🫲🏼 I put up a 6 bay shed 2 years ago, same dimensions as yours. Definitely agree with you about agitation point In middle. It's one regret I have I have 2 at either end but one in the middle would have been ideal
