There wasn't much steroids around back then, I was there, on the east coast, but you can find it, like D-Bol. I saw the extreme example of it with several lifters, their backs were covered with acne. Not a pretty sight, even though they got really big.

People debating about carbs need to suck it up! Yes you can do it! I do it and I'm doing it right now. Went from a 34 inch waist to a 29 inch waist while still maintaining muscle. I mainly follow Steve Reeves workouts but I also use Vince Girondas diet which is little to no carbs. My goal is to achieve the classic physique of the 50s and 60s and it has been a great rough and tough process. You just have to be willing to do it. Keep it up ric! 💪

Skull crushers and Overhead barbell extensions are AMAZING. I've been doing them and let me tell you folks there hasnt been any other exercise that blew up a body part's size like sitting and standing barbell extensions. I highly recommend. If you cant with a barbell do them with heavy ez curl bars.

Ric, I just got through with the Bill Pearl method you described of 3 skull crushers, 3 behind the head and 3 presses. My triceps are wasted. I got more out of these than single hand tricep extensions behind the head. Great tip. No wonder Bill had nothing but triceps! Thanks.

Great video. That tricep routine reminded me of the one I do that I got from Vince Gironda's muscle has four sides booklet. I only do part of it to avoid injury, but the tricep push is my favorite...took me a while to get the muscles to engage properly but it really works great. It kind of feels like catching a big ball and then the triceps extend out and you get an amazing pump.

skull crushers kick ass. I just did them today in fact. Sometimes it was the only one that I got sore from. Now just starting back at the gym anything gets me sore but they are great. Got to start off light or with a good warm up though. Had a guy kind of giggle at the fact of doing the presses after the crushers before, but together they will pump your tri's up.

Close grip benches and weighted dips(deep). And if you "can't, don't,shouldn't,are afraid to...go to the bottom, too bad. Plus extensions of whatever variety you want, there's tons, mix it up. But close grips and dips are meat and more meat.

I think the thing about tricep being two thirds may be an overstatement. The upper arm is made up of the triceps, biceps and brachialis. The triceps is certainly the biggest and probably easily makes up 50% of the arm but not 70%. I remember reading a chart where it said that the brachialis makes up at least 10%, maybe 15%. Do not remember how much of it is biceps.

You forgot Primobolan. With Dbol, Deca, Winstrol, Anavar, and Test, that's a total of SIX compounds right there, and just one of these at a low dose is going to work wonders for muscle building irrespective of how many carbs are in the diet. Sure, the keto diet is great for cutting, but not for bulking. Fact is, you can't get big without carbs (let alone train with as much energy) so the steroids you and the guys were taking are the main reason why you grew.

In every freaking video about bodybuilding, there's always a bunch of yapping birds in the comment section, chirping about steroids & the juice. Why does everybody seem to zero in on the steroid thing!? Just work hard, eat good and sleep well every night. Live a healthy life and get as much as you can out of the lifestyle. If you don't like steroids, don't use them. What could be more simple?

Respect to you ric but It seems that you either dont respect or dont believe what doug brignole has already explained on your very own show, the triceps all converge on the same insertion point so you cannot preferentially hit any one of the heads, making different exercises for the triceps redundant and in many cases inferior and inefficient

Honestly in my 19 years of working out I'll never do skullcrushers or over head dumbbell tricep extensions. Both are insanely hard on the elbow joint and you can't go heavy. Both will leave you eventually injured too. Get on a machine and do triceps push downs. You can go heavy and it's not hard on the joint. This means you can keep building them up through weight increases. Dips are a nice exercise where you can hit the triceps nice too.
