Building Billie Joe Armstrong's Guitar 'Blue' - Alegree Idolcaster S1 E2

Billie Joe Armstrong is famous for being the singer and guitarist of pop punk juggernauts Green Day. At the age of 11, he received a blue Fernandes Strat copy that would become famous for being his most distinctive guitar, aptly named 'Blue'.
In this video we've recreated Billie Joe Armstrong's iconic guitar, complete with all the grime and road wear, from our parts available at www.alegree.co.uk.

Please do the Rivers Cuomo blue Strat, maybe a Cobain guitar, definitely one of Billy Corgan’s early Strats with the Hot Rail pickups.

Boy. If you build this guitar, you gotta know that this is only used on the older stuff. Why start with something like American Idiot, which was recorded and played live on Gibson LPJ?

Probs because it's one of the most recognizable guitar riffs for non-green day superfans. After that though, he proceeds to play Hitchin a ride from the 1997 insomniac album, and then some stuff from 1994 dookie, which is what primarily characterizes "blue's" sound. Overall, I think he did a great job on the tone. Good catch, though. you know your shit lol

All you need is a strat. Every gig I've ever played as been with a strat, either Fender or some other strat including lots of custom builds. They do they job. Sometimes I want single coils, at other times buckers, but always a strat.

Love a good build and series. I just finished loading my Pacifica 112vcx with old timer shimmer singles and top hat hum bucker, with an added nickel cover. I did mess the 5 way switch as the Pacifica is wired slightly different to Strats. But the Alegree import pickups are way better than the stock in any stock pickups I tried (Pacifica, classic vibe, Ibanez azes and so on)
