A spring is used to relieve stress on a hard landing, or to avoid said hard landing. It can also be used as an elevator sorry if this to avoid going off of the road at a far too tall point (so the car doesn't flip or break the bridge under it) without ruining the structural integrity of the bridge under. With the springs on the second to last one, it becomes a matter of leverage. If you move the spring back on the bridge, the car will be able to apply more weight and push it down.

On number 2-07 you can change the spring from being in the middle of the double decker and put it on the bottom and have it connect to a TP at the bottom so that way it doesn't interfere with the top therefore you can shorten the structure on the top as it wouldn't have as much stress. But it's effective so you don't need to change it I guess

20:10 He keeps making this bridge worse. He moves the pivot point back, so the moment from the spring is larger proportional to the moment produce by the vehicles. What he should do instead is move the point at which the spring is connected to the bridge further back so it can't produce as large a moment (what's keeping the bridge up). Edit: which is of course what he eventually does. I think to stop breakages he needs to shorten the bridge. The fast car can use it as a ramp while the slow one can still produce a large enough force to move it down, but not so much as it does now to avoid breaking it.

Blitz your bridge was breaking on the level Fork in The Road bc the springs can’t go too far away from there stretch or contract points. The farther away they get from those points the harder they push back which broke the bridge.
