Built bunk beds for our boys when they were little and it lasted many years until they grew up and left home. Good luck finding that kind of quality in commercially available bunk beds. Those things are junk and so overpriced! Happy memories making something in the shop together are priceless.

Love this! My son was 2 when his sister was born. We bought bunk beds, got home late and I planned on putting the bed together in the morning. My son had other ideas....he made me build the bed that night. I have video of him ratcheting in the lag bolts...ok, so he was just spinning it the opposite direction and giggling at the noise, but it's really cute. :) That was over 2 decades ago. It's shocking how quickly they grow up.

Your craftmanship is absolutely beautiful and your video is very professionally made, I applaud your calm demeanor. It is important to note that bunk beds aren't recommended for children less than 6 and there needs to be a railing the entire length of the wall side to prevent strangulation.

Awesome to see the youngin enjoying the process with you. I sometimes have to step back and realize that to teach correctly, you have to take things slower and let them get in the way.😁 I love letting my 5yo “slow my projects down” so he can learn the right way to do things. My daughter is 12 and has been learning to weld. Takes a lot longer to get things done, but the pride I see in her face is what drives my patience. We’re supposed to be the ones teaching, but I finally learned how to be patient from the both of them. Also, I’m glad to see you were wearing your hearing protection while painting… those brush strokes can do irreparable ear damage! 🤪😂😂😆
