For the adjustable support, weld a bottom to the screwed on part and tap the top holes, that way they can be used for front or back axles. Still great design as is!

If you welded a nut into the upright and welded all thread or a bolt into your axle support cups then it would be fully adjustable and give you the ability to level it if you're narrowing an axle.

Good design. I like Paul's design since it's a table that can hold the axle, and all the parts being removed and installed. It works better in a small shop since it is versatile enough to do other duties when not working on axles.

You should pick up a clamshell transmission parts washer. I wash everything from engine blocks to complete Tcases, drain pans to jackstands. Any parts that I want washed super clean. It's one of those items you come to rely on & can't imagine life without after using it a few weeks. Gears, bearings, ect. I have mesh baskets that I put bolts & hardware in, most of the time I blow items off after washing but the heat from washing will dry most off. Makes preping parts super easy & working with clean parts is SO MUCH NICER!

Make that pinion support a slider. Bolt the upright to top of slider if you want it removed which I see no reason to. Also if u build the frame square where the catch pan is you can roll 28 gauge in a trough design with a slight tilt and bung to drain. If you don’t want to fool with ratchet straps us 1/4 chain with a small binder or turn buckle
