Hi. I came to your channel through these videos you made with the "alcoholic" moth :D... I'm not a woodworker, but I'm a fan of the design process and techniques. I've seen almost all of your videos now, and they're all incredible. How is it possible to have so few followers? You deserve 20x at least. A big hug from Lisbon, Portugal EU.

Last thought: when I upgraded to a Castle TMS-12 from the KREG, it was one of the biggest improvements I’ve ever made in my shop. I actually teared up when I unboxed it as you could tell a real human packaged it with pride. If I had the money I’d buy you one just to get them the exposure.

Nice Job cabinets took 9-12 man days to build which for this level custom cabinetry is vert fast. Added to the 20-25 man days for kitchen, WOW. Shows advantage of having good plans with out changes and skilled craftsmen working largely independently while in parallel to achieve the end goal, very impressive. Outsourcing drawer boxes was a brilliant decision again this was possible because of having detailed settled plans. This build shows GC's and owner's how they can achieve high end custom cabinetry results by settling design and investing in good plans and contracting with compentent cabinet shops and finish carpenters for the installation while saving enough to get custom high end cabinets throughout the build/remodel for same or less than mass produced cabinetry. On this old house, i watched a cabnits shop in the actual north east Using biskets to hold the face frame Some 20 years ago. Its actually a good idea. No pin nails in the show wood. Someone was clever enough to make a spring loaded biskets do they cost more I'm an sure they do. Id also think twice about gluing a face frame on. The boxes will stay the same But you could unsnape a face frame and change it to draws or doors. The shelf pins could hold draw slides or shelfs the system can change with a little work. Or even flat pack. I could order a set, parts are made up and i assemble 1000 miles away from your shop. Shipping would cost a lot less.

They make it look easy but don't let it fool you. These are high end meticulously built cabinets. Hey josh next upgrade defiantly should be a 5hp or more. Oneida or Clear Vue Cyclone with some quick clamp ducting. Nordfab's patent ran out so you can get the same stuff for way less. Blast Gate Company has great prices. Protect those lungs my man!!

The true genius of your shop is that garage door where you load your pre finished plywood. Material handing is the part no one ever quotes in their time.
@112wadeАй бұрын
A forklift and cantilver racks to store the product really speed up material handling.
@mikeinmarylandАй бұрын
@@112wadeTotally agree. It appears he can off-load and place his bunk of plywood on the floor, from the outside, using his forklift.

I always have a set up cost built into my price . Planning,materials pickup,cost of machinery maintenance.👍🏝️🇨🇦
@mikeinmarylandАй бұрын
I probably should modify my statement. I’m sure plenty of us price “our time”. My point about having material handling in your estimate, we don’t figure the double, triple or even more handling of materials. Moving them from here to there… Having the garage door means he can off load the delivery truck with his forklift and place it right where he needs it. That was the point I was attempting to convey.

I’m so glad to see that I’m not the only one with dust collection issues. I’ve tried to adjust the arbor on my Grizzly tablesaw to keep dust from hitting me in the chest when I first got it. I’ll give it another try over Christmas break. 😏
@greggkathy1892Ай бұрын
I also like the garage door in the shop idea. I’m going from my 25’ x 25’ detached garage shop to a 25’ x40’ pole barn shop which is basically 1/3 of a 40’x 80’ woodshop/auto shop/barn dominion that will be built next year. Love to be able to open up both garage doors and blow out the wood shop with my backpack blower to tame the mid-project dust!

I didn’t see it in Jason’s video or here either. Did you pre measure and cut the face frame feet and end panels before you put the cabinets onto the toe boxes? Did you put them on the same way you did the island to scribe the panels and cut them then final install? Or did you level the toe boxes so you didn’t have to cut those sections of face frames? I’m a cabinet installer by trade myself and like learning from others. I realize you may have done something not shown in the video.

So is it harder to work with another professional/creator or does it make the job easier? Just wondering because everyone has their own technique and methods. That has to be worse when the one professional is also the customer? Obviously you work WELL together and it looks fun, but it still seems it could be more difficult at times.
