Building Dog House - Insulated for Winter Use

In this video, I'm showing how I'm building dog house. The dog house is insulated for winter use. It is possible to use pallet wood for that dog house project, but I didn't have pallet wood, so I used regular boards that I had. The frame is made out of 2' by 4' (50x100mm) and 2' by 2' (50x50mm) wood.

Bad ass dog house and its even safe from a tornado, that custom wood lathe was awesome lol. I built a 5x10 house for my goat with a 3x5 front porch, built it with a roof and walls that would support well over 800lbs expecting him to be on it all the time but the rascal only got on it once. He would sit down and prop up against the door facing if it rained or snowed but normal summer he would be in it because i had a fan in one eve that pulled air thru the door

I will put money on it that the dog sleeps on the bed beside you at night as mine does but if he has to be outside then its a warm shanty till dad gets home

Actually not. She sleeps outside. In winter sometimes we let him in but not to the bed.

Thank you! I can add the rough measurements later. But I think that if you are going to use pellet wood, then look the length of your meterial what you going to use and the dog size. I made it so that dog can easily walk in and out and lay on floor. If the house is too big and high, then it's colder too.

Wood, screws, saws, drill and some kind of roofing. All you see in the video. I don't have exact measurements or something. I think you should get the idea of the house, just combine the materials you have locally.

She can come in sometimes, but most time she is outside. For winter time I will install the door for house and use dry hay inside where she sleeps.

If I saw right, you didn't insulate the floor. I think that's the most important place to insulate, then walls and to the last he roof. But a great dog house

Thank you! Yes, I didn't insulated the floor in video, but I did that before the winter with the EPS foam. Also using some dry hay inside tha dog house witch I can change over some time.
