EAA has technical advisors that will come look at your project to see if there are any obvious problems while it is under construction. It is free and they have people familiar with many different airframes. All that is required to use this service is being a member of EAA.

At 9:56 Trent to Nikk "I swear to God if you go an ground loop or hit your wing or something Im gonna be mad at you" I nearly cried - so sad to see all the work that went in to this beautiful build given Nikk's crash and knowing that she is no more, get better and build again Nikk! I built an RV7A but still really want to get stuck into a fabric airee, it looks like a time-honored and rewarding experience.

He's doing a great job. It will fly just fine. Looks like he has everything nailed down. So many builders start adding and changing stuff once they begin and that can add years to a project. Trust me, I built my fast build Velocity in only 12 years...

Great video. It’d be great to see you check in with Nikk on a regular basis to watch his plane come together. Building a full-size aircraft is my ultimate goal. I built a stick-build 2M RC glider when I was 12, tore down to nothing and rebuilt a wrecked sportbike when I was 20, and built a garage when I was 35. Building is what I do, and aircraft are the ultimate construction. I figure I’m on track to build an airplane when I’m 60, so another 15 years to go. Oh well. At least I have great videos to watch in the meantime. Thank you. 😎

It is so good to see some young guys doing this kind of work. All I ever see are old guys that are retired and really have not much more to do than mow their yards and build the plane. Cannot wait to see this kit fox in the air. Thanks for sharing.

Trent. As you did not build your Kit Fox, do you have a "Friend A&P Mech" who does your Annual Condition Inspection, and signs it off? Your friend, Nick, will be able to do his own, as you know. Saves a few bucks there. Plus! As a builder, you know EVERY nook and cranny of your plane. I built 3 EAB's - all wood and fabric. My last build, an EROS Minimax I flew for over 750 hrs before retiring it. Still beats flying GA planes. With the exception of the Piper Arrow, which was my favorite. Like your videos. Thanks, N-6395T (now retired.) Another build in the mix? Don't know, I'm thinking. At 81yrs of age I know I have to "get with it" to get another plane finished. :)

I did a complete rebuild (down to bare metal) of my Avid Flyer that I had bought second hand years before. Gives you a completely different feeling (and pride) of the airplane. Hi Trent, Love watching your stuff man. You reminding me of my high school dream. When I was in 8th grade, my physics teacher introduced me to Fluid dynamics. I thought I should study physics after HS and build my own airplane. 7 years later, now, I got my master degree in physics. But damn, I forget why I study physics in the first place. Your videos have inspired me to make my HS dream a reality. And now I'm ready to put my lab coat off. Would love to see more video like this, Trent.

Nikk's shop is pretty damn clean - I can't even imagine keeping myself that organized. I think the scary thing about homebuilding (in a good way) is how approachable it seems. If you have the time and take your time it seems like the bar is really low to build something airworthy and awesome.

Like your Tucker Gott tee- shirt..... been watching his stuff for sometime, and will one day fly a para motor( own one) but your bush plane rocks. Both of your videos that you guys do are awesome and inspire not only myself but many others to take to the sky’s. @angelreading50986 жыл бұрын
Great shop he has there and why not indeed use your original wings if they save time getting his Kitfox flying,what is apparent is although this is a kit plane there is still a lot to do,surprised that channel sections are supplied unfinished into those brackets,the Ororcover has bilateral pull when heated its a technique easily learned but if you have not done this before then that was a good start,I bet that you can tidy up the seams by carefully cutting into them and applying heat with the iron then adding some capping over the top just a suggestion for you,I like the comradship of you guys sharing and learning from each other in this way you have a great aviation community,just looking at what you are doing makes me want to be helping hands on with this project,please keep us updated Trent on Nikks progress,I think perhaps he is a bit optimistic in his time to complete as there is still a lot of the time consuming detail stuff to do,another great video and insight into this wilderness workhorse,thank you for uploading it on our behalf.

I spoke with the Rotax people at SNF yesterday, and the guy was telling me how easy the EFI was to service. He even said that he took out one set of the injectors while the engine was running and, after a few moments, the computer took over and automatically fired the second set twice, which kept it running pretty well. That was impressive, to me.
@TrentonPalmer6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the EFI is impressive for sure, just harder to troubleshoot in the field should anything ever go wrong
