I use raw linseed oil applied every 3 years or so...works perfectly and no rot with no petroleum products...I also use screws so glue is not necessary...

If the wood will not absorb after dipping why use glue?

Cecil Dean I feel it still creates a stronger bond even if it’s not absorbing it that much
