Thank you, lots of creativity to come, next weeks video is how I made some sliding barn doors for between the old living room and new dining room. Yes, the kids definitely enjoy a bit of demolition!

Could you share the cost of the project in totality all in?

Love it! how much did it cost?

Thank you for sharing this very interesting project of taking down an existing conservatory entirely and replacing it with an extension. Curious to find out how much did you get for the conservatory windows/door frames and the roof panels? The figure you mentioned of about £29k, which part of the country are you located. Thanks!
@redrockingbirdathome2696 Жыл бұрын
The main aim of putting the old on on Bay was to keep it from going in the skip, a guy that puts up conservatories for a living bought it to put back up and I'm sure it was around £75 we got but he did all the hard work and took it apart well. NW

@@redrockingbirdathome2696 Yes, I agree and I'm of the same mindset also. Thinking of getting a few quotes for the conversion.

Thinking of doing something similar to my current conservatory or adding an extension to the Kitchen/Dining room. Just wondering did you need to get planning permission?
@redrockingbirdathome2696 Жыл бұрын
we were within the planning permission size so no, but went through all building regs etc as required. We absolutely love our new space and is well worth it, best of luck

Looks like a great extension. Is it a solid roof or a lightweight Guardian/Superlite roof? Did you have a radiator plumbed into your existing heating system or just have an electric radiator in there? Is it warm enough to use on very cold winter nights?
@redrockingbirdathome2696 Жыл бұрын
we had a radiator plumbed in and a bigger one put in the existing dining room, it gets warm enough, we have a log burner in the joining room too, solid roof with steel beams.

We have the same shape conservatory and considering turning it into an extension. I notice that you completely ripped out the brickwork from the bottom of the conservatory and put new footings in. Were you not able to build on top of the existing brickwork to save dismantling it?
@redrockingbirdathome2696 Жыл бұрын
Apparently not strong enough for the new rood etc, but when they actually got round to digging, the footings were very substantial. We wanted a new shape. Friends of ours, just went with new windows and a light roof, depends on budget and design I guess. Thanks

How did you take down the glass?
@redrockingbirdathome2696 Жыл бұрын
we left that to the people that took it away to remake at home, but hey took the seal out from around the glass and it came out, they will put new of this in when they put it back together, the people that bought it do this kind of thing for a living. Thanks

Hi Could I be cheeky and ask how much you budgeted for? Im considering undertaking a similar project, taking down a conservatory. So im just collecting as much info as I can. Many thanks.
@redrockingbirdathome2696 Жыл бұрын
Hi, for this space all in, about £29k but then we added some extras to take it over…as always, and different locations different prices
