Hi Asha and Gad. Hope all is well in Ghana. We haven't seen any news that African people are encourage to buy gold. Many countries in the west are buying a lot of gold and are using less of the US dollar. People are also encouraged to buy gold. We hope African people are watching what is happening in the western world.

I see that in Ghana a lot these days. There's a reason some countries have enforced building code so you have to bring in a professional for approval. A lot of people (who themselves don't know anything about building) spend money on building with regular artisans who also don't know what they're doing.

In engineering, it is said that "you use the right tools for the right job". Most people do not realize that every stage needs planning and they need to use the right people. It saves time and headaches.

Can you please give your dogs some water because they were behind you trying to drink water from your water tank. Whatever was leaking out of it. Make sure you look after them. They look awfully thin indeed. Make sure you feed them and give them fresh water twice a day. If they’re there to protect you and your property; you’ve got to make sure that you go all out for them. Just saying.

Totally agree with you on never to copy and paste, especially for a large property. It will a need a full assessment from a building services engineer electrical to determine the correct power supply requirements. Doing things on the cheap can work out costly. As always great content 👏

This is a great educational video that brings home the point, "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Large houses 2300 SF or more would incorporate multiple zones in the design. For example, to conserve power, minimize waste, and save money, a 2-story, 2300+ SF house would have 2 HVAC units - 1 for the upstairs living area and 1 for downstairs.

Asher and Gad another awesome and relevant to me as a copy and paster. Yes we say Penny Wise and Pound Foolish, flip that and we say Champaigne Taste and Lemonade Pocket. Yes I agree Design Services are critical, BUT they also need to be a reasonable part of the total building cost. If it is beyond the financial affordability of the ordinary working man, it will be circumvented. This will leave us with no improvement in general electrical safety within homes and buildings, plus a reduced environment for those considering electrical installation, and design as a career. Your mantle is huge, I pray you can find that " Sweet Spot " and balance, within Ghana market, uplifting and assisting development in Ghana. Great content.

"beware of copy & paste" 🤣🤣🤣... the problem is that the building regulations are not enforced. one might think that there are no building regulations in the country but you might be surprised to find out that ghana has all the regulations/laws (albeit a bit outdated) comparable to the developed world but the assemblies are incapable of enforcing them. i believe the general public need to be educated on the benefits of expending enough money on professional design to protect their investments. you are doing a good job on that, keep it up!

@@kingstal90 @Eng Chronicles, Ghana adopted the international building code standards in 2017. Lack of discipline. professionalism and integrity on the part of Ghana's builders and tradesmen in a society as hyper religious as Ghana is very problematic. Folks values should govern their behavior even if government laws hasn't caught up. Do the right thing, this is peoples homes, their lives, their treasures. Build with integrity.

Architectural plans come with electrical and plumbing schematics. So, I'm confused as to how this even happened to begin with. And where is the building inspector in this process? This should/would've been caught in a building inspection before the interior finishes were started. Ghana. Ghana, Ghana...smh.
@kingstal90
@kingstal90 2 жыл бұрын
Architectural plans DO NOT always come with electrical and plumbing! - It is not by default. You have to request it - Also just because you have an electrical plan, that doesn't mean this cannot happen. Designing on paper is one thing - actual execution on site is another....

People waste money on rubbish a lot of the time. It's all about how it looks not about functionality. Cutting corners is universal and the fact is rather than saving money it costs more.

so that I don’t misunderstand the issue. part of a house is getting less water flow due to low pressure. meaning part of the house is getting more water flow due to less pressure drop caused by uneven pipeline distribution and the solution is bigger pump/higher horsepower? wow! a whopping 3,000 cedis? there are cheaper ways to balance flows.
@Gh_ba_finest
@Gh_ba_finest 2 жыл бұрын
not necessarily. if the design did not account for the overall minimum pressure requirement for the entire system, balancing the flows would just decrease the overall pressure in the system to account for the comparatively lower pressure areas.
@thomasagbanyo1979
@thomasagbanyo1979 2 жыл бұрын
@@Gh_ba_finest I agree installing a flow orifice would cause an overall pressure drop. given the low viscosity of water and size bore size required, I do not anticipate a higher loss

I don't think anyone building a house will set themselves up for failure. It's unfortunate in GH we faces these challenges. I employed loncha to do my cabinets and I still have to call them about some little oversight. I employed superlock for my glass balustrade and same thing happened. It's about time, people building in GH educate themselves about the whole process, if not qualified and unqualified artisans will always disappoint you.

So all that you said are noted but my question now is, at what point of building the house do one apply or involve the plumbing and electrical designer to be in a safe side?
@Gh_ba_finest
@Gh_ba_finest 2 жыл бұрын
Typically after the architect has completed the building design. It can also be done concurrently as the building design is ongoing but if there's any significant change in the building design that impacts the other trade's design, that may result in changes in their design to accommodate
