I'm not a civil or structural engineer, but I have an observation to make. Even though the foundation has been laid, it appears to me that the continuous flow of water from the neighbouring property will continue to impact the building during it's life cycle. Why not tackle that fundamental issue?

The water from the property as later stopped from coming into the site, thanks for your suggestion

Interesting! Sure looks to me like a solid foundation. Looking forward to the construction video for the rest of the building.

I must say that diligence is a virtue and it was fully explored at work execution here on this site. Indeed the terrain is a very challenging on, but you tried your best to overcome them. However, the only suggestion or question I would have made is to comment thus: "Would there have been any difference in the challenge with swampy terrain if this foundation-to-DPC basement work was executed during the dry season - say, in the months of November to February?" Probably a consideration to be assessed in future projects. Thanks for sharing, and wishing you all the very best.

Thank you for your wonderful comment… yes the work was actually started during the dry season (November)…

Methinks this is overkill and antiquated. why not follow the bridge model of sinking footings and then building a decking over the sunk footings? That would be much cheaper and safer too. We must endeavor to improve on our skillset and not be stuck on a time warp.

Thank you for your comment. That makes sense, however, I am not a structural engineer and would only follow the recommendations of a structural engineer, who has studied the soil structure of the building site and calculated the load due to the building before making such recommendations… they could be method in his madness…

Interesting video, pls can I know the cost for laying the foundation to dpc?
@UmekRealestate
@UmekRealestate 7 ай бұрын
At the time we did this project, it was over 22million, that was due to the type of foundation used... yours will depend on your site location/type of foundation design and how many floors you would go...

Hi Thanks for yhe video Please can you tell us your site investigation process? Did you use borings or just physical observation method? 2:07

Hi, I don’t do site investigation myself, but I know they bore holes at least 3 different points on the ground to collect samples, which they analysed and then wrote a report based on their findings…
