Sweet build. I’ve a few decent ones of me own. Problem is always damn California smog checks and muffler shops now. They’re afraid to touch anything. My suggestion is Nevada if it’s over 25 years old, just take you rubber band day trip there and back, or Montana LLC but “La Chota” is on to that loophole and can hassle. Just my two cents.

I tell people that about the exhausts. Even an m52 with m50 manifold, 3.5 intake/maf (or if u add a cam). U gotta do duals as far back as possible, with an xpipe, or a proper Y way back. U can't join em at the front or the car feels like sht. Even with headers, shorties or long tubes. All modded straight 6 bmw engines like the similar exhaust setups. From experience lol. I've had maybe 50 exhaust setups on e36s

do you Americans ever work with M20 engines in your E30 builds ??

In South Africa, m20 engines are heavily moded and run with Diktator or Haltech. S54 engines being a bit expensive are not so much used. The other engines used in E30 are Toyota 1UZ v8 which is like the LS of the South African car culture. That being said , Castro you do some very solid solid reliable looking builds

I love the whole car looks. It looks well thought out. How exactly did you mount the speakers in the rear decklid? I also wanted to do something similar to make it look cleaner but wasn’t sure how to mount the speakers. Did you screw them in the original place and just put the alcantara over it?

We modified some aftermarket 6x9 mounting pods and affixed them to the bottom of the shelf.
