Thank yall for all of the constructive criticism! There seems to be a repeat of comments so I'll address it here. First of all, I'm sorry for disappointing yall :( I'm still learning about PC building and I was really proud of myself for gettin my own custom PC to work. I still hav a ways to go. These components were so expensive because I bought them beginning of 2018. Prices were much higher back then :( The wristband was advertised as cordless and I bought it 4ish years ago, I put TONS of research into everything but the strap. I had no idea it hardly did anything, so I'm trashing it. Sorry to disappoint yall by using it, but I'll never use it again. I did touch lots of metal to discharge tho! Just didnt want to edit in all my random metal pats. The cooler didnt come with much thermal paste on it for some reason (I think cus it was sittin in a box for awhile), so I added some more just in case. If it was too much, I'll just reapply in the near future.

Was $2K your budget for this build? Also, why did you opt for a SATA 3 SSD and not an NVMe SSD? No price difference really, and you'll get 4x performance. The motherboard you picked has 2 x Ultra M.2 Sockets, something to think about when you decide to upgrade future components. ^_^ Have you found a job in IT yet?
@lynns08026 жыл бұрын
That is odd they advertised it as wireless because the whole purpose of the wrist strap is to connect to some form of metal to ground yourself to elimanate having to periodically touching random metal.

I feel like telling you great job. So many people want to criticize or coach you, but honestly you did great. You were opened about your experience , and troubleshooting when it didn't seem to work. Great job. You are above beginner level but your modesty is admirable. You have a nice positive vibe to your personality and pretty blue eyes. Keep on trucking through youtube and don't let negative feedback get you down.
@ashetonryan73956 жыл бұрын
Agreed, coming from someone that has been building PC's since he was for 15+ years. You did some things the "long way" specifically in the troubleshooting aspect, the closed-loop liquid cooler was painful to watch and to hear it took you 2hrs... But if it's your first time and you're by yourself it's understandable. A learning experience and one that is needed the price point of liquid coolers are becoming more reasonable and the longevity and performance of them is great. The wristband does not hurt anything, but as long you're wearing shoes and are touching a part of the case before you handle parts you're fine, I personally keep my forearm touching. The thermal paste was a little much - but as long as it doesn't drip when it heats up you should be ok. Might want to look at ThermalGrizzly, you can paint it on, they also have the pads now too so you skip the paste all together, peel-and-stick. Positives, personality great, the fact you actually knew what to buy for your needs and not just trying to break benchmark records was refreshing. Also, knowing what POST is and if you aren't filling every ram slot of RAM knowing which slots are primary and to even look for that was awesome. Keep it up, Enjoy what you have invested in and built, it's more rewarding when you build it then when you buy it. PCPARTPICKER and PASSMARK are great resources if you haven't discovered them as of yet. - May your framerates be high and your temperatures low -

A couple of things, the static wristband doesn't do much when its a wireless one. I mean it works fine when its humid, but part from that its shit. Not that you really need them. I build PC's all the time and I never wear a static wristband, I just touch the case to ground myself. Second is the RAM always goes in the second and forth slot. It is standard for motherboards. Third, Graphics cards don't like to do HDMI without drivers. So when you are trying to do a post, always use DVI or VGA, if I doesn't work then, you know something is wrong. Not sure about display port tho, never really used it. K that's all folks.

almost the same as i got a few days ago, i went with a evga gtx 1080ti, and 32 gbs of trident z 3600, msi z370 mother board, 5 rgb fans instead of water cooling, and i got the i7 8700k as well! great choices you made, and you did it yourself! i subbed! :)

thanks you! i followed you on twitch as well! so cool that you put that together yourself! i just ordered the parts, and the store put it together for me. i'm uploading a vid of the final product now. it has many colors to choose from for RGB, but i'm sticking to red for pretty much everything, and i have a storm trooper bobble head inside guarding it xD

That wrist band is completely useless... Legit you'd have to run a wire from it down to the ground for it to ground you...
@ciri1516 жыл бұрын
Or something that is just metal. like the pc case.
@bobswaget1186 жыл бұрын
Slash Le Pew that's true.. but if the motherboard is in the case you'll fry the CPU and the motherboard (which is not something that you wanna do)
@Barney-ps8bl6 жыл бұрын
Being grounded doesn't mean you need to be connected to the ground
@adrenaline4life2336 жыл бұрын
HazarDemon Honestly being grounded is just for being safe. The odds of frying your stuff because you aren’t grounded is small unless you are rubbing your socks on carpet for some reason while you are building your pc. Yes I am safe and ground myself to my power box while building, but honestly, the odds of it doing anything without me doing that is pretty small
@bobswaget1186 жыл бұрын
Adrenaline 4 Life well I always have to completely ground myself because my whole house is this fuzzy carpet that gets super staticy
@belowaverage33255 жыл бұрын
You never grounded the anti static band so it was useless, and it is safe to put the mother board on the anti static bag it comes with
@PerfectAlibi15 жыл бұрын
I don't even wear an anti static band, just don't touch any of the metal bits of the sets and ground yourself by touching the case or a radiator. Touching the ground connector in your wall socket can also work if it can be touched. ^^
@belowaverage33255 жыл бұрын
PerfectAlibi I also don’t use a anti stati band I usually build on wood or tiles so no static electricity

Can you actually sleep at night having a liquid cooler telling you "Maybie i'll leak tonight.... maybie not"?
@TrungLe-dw1mm6 жыл бұрын
or maybe "I will stop this water pump and you can have fun troubleshooting"
@colinjava84476 жыл бұрын
Its more likely to leak when its on, besides nearly everyone does a leak test first. You would have to be unlucky enough for the leaking fitting to be one that drips onto your components. Typically most of the fittings would just leak away from the electrical stuff. Supposing it did leak in the night, then hopefully you can just dry out your wet component for a couple of days, and there should be no problem.
@spanish111japan6 жыл бұрын
Rubber can leak overtime y'know. We'd be f*cked if we had to worry when it's new
@jakakastelec43076 жыл бұрын
its an AIO not really a chance of leaking since they made it sealed and all that stuff dont really know how to tell you... A leak test is usually done with a custom loop not with an AIO. The custom loops have fittings which need to be sealed very tight. In the AIO is different. Hope it helps :) (English isnt my first language so yeah..)

@@jakakastelec4307 The point of my comment is it's a joke, but some corsairs can leak, search videos about it

Hey NoisyButters, Thank you for making this video, I really learnt a lot from you! I would love to build my own PC but to be honest I would be so nervous to do it myself. I ended up buying one in the end. It's so great to see that you managed to build this by yourself, keep it going!

Some of the things you say in the video made me see that you actually know what you are talking about and seeing that you gave good advice and also did a great job I would like to congratulate you on a successful build. May it serve you many years to come.

and this, folks, is women in IT. people's first perception of them is as dumber & they assume so until they have to prove they're actually just the same as you. of course, i'm not blaming it on sexism. i do believe a big part of it is because of actual "stupid chicks" promoting shit like that and swimming in thirst-money.
