Would you ever spend this on an Airsoft Build???
@greenradiozone824

i already spend that money on airsoft builds (canada moment)
@dwon031

Not for something that is basically an oversized SCAR with a fragile FCG. I already spend money on airsoft builds, but they are unique and practical, such as converting an GMG42 to an MG3, or converting a BAR into a FN model D. But what you do with your own money is your business. So long as it is meaningful to you that's fine. My only caution is that the more you spend on one thing the more costly it will fail, sometimes during a game, other times just failing and not being able to fix it due to the unique nature of it. There is a reason why every army still uses the cheapest rifle they can buy, because if it fails there are so many of them it becomes easy to replace and fix. XM5, like the XM8, is doomed to be that cool project that will just go nowhere when bullets actually start flying, like auto-adjusting scopes.

@@dwon031 Most GBBR internal parts are pretty cheap, unless you are buying full internal retrofits, a replacement hammer doesn't cost very much. Even then, FCGs rarely fail, and if they are it's because of burrs rather than destroyed parts. I'll be honest, outside of your final comment and a couple other things, most of your comment sounds like put together jargon that doesn't really make much sense when you start thinking about it.
@dwon031
@dwon031 15 күн бұрын
@ put together jargon? I.e. TLDR? Let me boil it down to simple speak: Spend too much money on bespoke shit, have it fail, cry heaps because you can't find spare parts. That's not jargon, that's reality. Yeah if you spend $4000 on a rifle, a trigger pack is cheap. Until recently, many MWS parts could only be obtained from Marui. I am still have issues trying to find a spare AK nozzles and Type 89 trigger sears. I hate to go personal on a discussion but your sense of value is so distorted because you clearly have more dollars than sense, and CAN'T comprehend whats of value. When someone tells you its maybe a bad investment you tell the guy its just jargon. Very disrespectful.
@greenradiozone824
@greenradiozone824 15 күн бұрын
@@dwon031 "Until recently" Aftermarket MWS parts have been widely available for years now, it's not recent. Unless you buy a niche gun in general, you're going to find spare parts everywhere. 100 bucks off pro-act got me 20 spare parts for a VFC glock, 90 off JKArmy got me enough WE-Tech nozzles and feed-lips to last me until the heat death of the universe, all parts that will inevitably break. Even less then that got me an entire VFC FCG, and even then, with the MWS, the chances of the FCG going is so unfathomably low, some people still run the same trigger boxes from the first batch released in what was it, 2015? You don't need to replace a trigger pack for one (1) (I) broken part, it's about as easy is going to JKArmy, ehobbyasia, ProAct, maybe a local/regional store if they stock it, or in some cases, even contacting the original manufacturer and asking to buy one, or if you want, more spare parts, and paying pennies. If you even decide to change the whole trigger pack, it's like, 90 bucks at most for a new CNC steel set, and then you'll never have to replace it again. Your only valid points is regarding the TM AKM and the Type 89, where spare parts are rare, then you have their MWS, all their pistols, especially the glocks, where parts are abundant. Would I love for TM OEM parts to be more abundant? Pretty certain every one does, but they don't really care about the international market since we make them so little money. It's not disrespectful, we're in 2025, nearly (emphasis on nearly) everything you said is myth at this point. The only bad investment with a Toxicant XM5 is it's poor QC, which is something you entirely glossed over.

@@6mmbadgerIt's perfectly fine if it's something you enjoy, no different than building expensive cars to race, drive leisurely or simply show off. You'll never break even financially but the enjoyment and sense of accomplishment is something you can't buy with money. Great build, I wouldn't change much other than I like the SIG Romeo 4 sight. I'm fortunate enough to live where I'm able to build and enjoy my "real steel" SIG MCX as well as my airsoft version. I would love to build both versions of the XM5 but the RS version can wait, for ammunition reasons.

The suppressor is just really really stubborn. You can put some grease and push it in really really hard then rotate. The oring is just a bit too large. Once it thread on, it won't wobble at all. My flash hider cut part of the oring for me when I install in XD.

@@6mmbadgerI've seen a friends build that worked well with the original flash hider. I don't know if you've tried that but I also don't know why the other flash hider won't work. The original one is still a tight fit and it may make you feel that you are on the verge of breaking something, lol! But, rotating it from unlocked to locked should work if it's inserted properly with some "extra" effort. Good luck 🤞!

The lock and unlock is just a marking. There is no lock function. Just push it in harder than you expect until the thread can engage. I put it on the floor and push with both hands.

@@tk2097 Whatever works for you! I've seen photos of top tier operators that have a light mounted on top of their rail. Basically, where you'd normally see a PEQ or a front iron back-up sight. I tried it temporarily just to see how it worked and it worked very well. I used a Surefire pistol light like in the photo. It was easy to actuate and didn't require my changing my grip with my forward hand. These guys put their weapons together with the foresight of what will work best for the mission they're embarking on so set-ups will change. I, on the other hand, set up my guns in a more general way - if that makes sense - so I didn't keep this set-up. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for Airsoft CQB with the right weapon though.

You basically set it to the unlock position, drop it on the muzzle device, turn it CW if you're looking down the barrel or CCW if you're looking at it from the shooting position, then when it's tight, turn the ring to the locked state. Hope I helped, mate!

g&g makes a handstop that comes on all arp9 and arp556 2.0's. its polymer and simple but its so perfect. one m-lok fastener its super lightweight and it can be used in two orientations just spin 180 degrees to stop from sliding toward magwell and spin to keep your hand from sliding hand in front of barrel. I think its so minimal it wont draw any attention from the killer features you added to this. just a suggestion. I like it because it slips under the radar but its very functional and low profile keeps it from catching everything but a f-ing fastball. wow this thing is so epic!!!! outstanding taste in accessorizing this big badass Bertha!! cheers

i love this build and i have absolutly no experience so it is not a critique but rather what I would have done: - I love the supressor but i would have taken one with the tube the same color as the replica and with the little lock thing at the base of it and without the "for airsoft only use". - i don't like the fire selector, i would have searched for the "45° fire selector" so that u have safe at the top, semi at 45° and full at 90°. it just helps if you are using ur ereplica realistically (ae safe as long as you are not eactivelly shooting) to shoot and react to "threats" faster :) - for the sight, i think it looks great but i just don't like red dots i need my holographic reticle to be able to aquire it quickly when i need it so i would have put an eotech on a sight raiser to be able to put a flip up magnifier instead of the flip on the side like you have. just for the balance when doing cqb and that way when the magnifier is not in use the lense is protected by the holographic sight. ( a link to a flipup sight as an example of what i am talking about : www.evike.com/products/114718/ ) - i would have put a canted backup iron sight as well (not necessary but if you get the main sight broken or out of battery or anything you can still use your main gun and in real steel guns a lot of pple put them on for extra reliability and redondancy so it would make the gun more "rp") since they are iron they are not that heavy or big so it doesn't upset the balence of the replica too much. - Finally i would put a magpull grip for two reasons: in cqb, you hold the grip so that if an opponent manages to get a hold on you're replica you have much more control tu put the parrel on him that if you where holding the barrel ( ca video explaining what i just said (at the correct timestamp 11:55 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZDCiZ9uqc-Gq68). and it makes of a better handstop behind all of your fingers in my opinion (and it looks better but that's irrelevant tho) - oh and i like serflex to attach the wire it looks more custom/raw/ i made it myself on my own i didn't just spend more money that everyone but that's just for fun here you go that's my opinion but at the end of the day i don't have nearly enough money to even afford a cheap replica so you do what you want with yours! PS: sry for my bad english i'm french and i really did spend a long time writing that comment so sry...
