From a European Perspektive it is really irritating seeing a normal person building a gun from scratch. Like building a costom computer. I mean These things are conceived to kill… Blows my mind how big the industrie seems to be, and that guns are part of normsl people life. I would never like to life in sunch a Environment.

Computers are used to start wars, guns are used to fight them. It depends on how you look at it. From what it looks like you have an evil mindset. Guns are tools, you say they’re used to kill I say they’re used for the preservation of life. Just because one person uses it for evil does not mean the majority do the same, it’s actually far from it. Not sure what media they be showing you in Europe but thats more dangerous than any gun I know.

After all is said and one I would still rate this build 9/10. Excellent job. A few comments: Did not check headspace. Red loctite on a muzzle device does nothing They are typically rated to about 500F which the muzzle will easily exceed. Might as well have put it on dry. Use Rocksett instead. I don't know what kind of solution you are using on the barrel nut threads but there really is only one thing that should be used. Aeroshell 33ms. These threads should be seasoned by torquing to 30 ft.lbs. and then breaking the torque 3 times before tightening to final torque. Based on the parts used, I would rate this as a mid-end rifle. I'm not sure how the barrel is being hammered into the upper but you shouldn't have to do this. Heat up the upper with a heat gun and freeze the barrel. Improper hammering of the barrel into the upper can (although it isn't super likely) mess up the crown.

I didn't know I needed an ASMR ar build video but this was great! I have the same Magpie action block and I guess I need to read the instructions because I didn't realize you used the carrier with it lol. Couple suggestions for future builds: 1. when you use a wrench fitting on a torque wrench, you need to have it at a 90 degree angle to the handle to get accurate torque readings. I did like you did for years before finding out there is a correct way to do it. 2. Forward control designs makes a gas block jig that fits most low pro gas blocks like you used and can be held in a vice to make installing the roll pin easier. Also, Geissele makes special punches just for that job as well. Makes that job so much easier.

@@vietnamtactical make sure you use a torque extension calculator as it looks like you extended your length by around 4-6 inches. So you probably put 20-40% more torque on your fasteners just an fyi. Also oils or gun oils will lube your threads making your torque wrench output a lot more torque. Clean build :).

Something about the way this was filmed is so satisfying! If youre up for some advice from a stranger. Remember to keep any 1/2" drive adapter at 90 degrees when torqueing unless you are taking that extra length in consideration when calculating what torque setting to use. For example, in the vid, the added length of barrel nut wrench is causing the applied torque to be much higher unless you put the setting at a lower setting to compensate. the amount to decrease can be calculated pretty easily since you know the length of the torque wrench and the setting you want it to be set at. Also, those magpul bench blocks are good for lowers and muzzle devices, but they dont actualyl support the upper receiver so torqueing on a barrel nut goes from barrel nut to upper to barrel through the index pin. The midwest URR supports the upper much better.

10/10 vid loved watching it! Also just a heads up rock sett may be a bit better than red loctite for muzzle devices especially if you're running suppressed. Loctite tends to break down at higher temps (+500° F) and can be a pita to remove when you want to get it off. Rocksett is a silicate based thread locker which doesn't degrade in hotter environments. And it's water soluble so letting the barrel soak in some boiling water for 30-45 minutes will let you pull the muzzle device off.

@ Na, my go-to is my Savage 99 lever gun, 20” made in 1968, chambered in .300 Savage. I just got a Tikka t3x roughtech ember and it was $1,400, just the gun. Put a vx-5 on it. 1k scope, and a nomad TI suppressor, 1,300 with tax stamp. Got about 4k in that rifle….Haven’t shot it yet. I hunt in my back yard almost everyday. I build a lot of AR’s for people. Most want super-over the top stuff that makes the rifle heavy and super-useless. All my personal AR’s are very light mostly 16” and most have scopes, few have red dots/eotech. You remind me of many of my friends 25yrs ago. Super-tactical thinking and super-suck at hunting…or hitting anything.
@4NaturesStory20 күн бұрын
All parts can be bought for much less. It’s funny watching people spend so much to literally get the same thing. So much over-priced crap. He spent 1k on this rifle and I could have drilled out a 80 lower, build the whole gun, 3.5lb trigger and everything! For about half that. And the gun will shoot 1” MOA in a 16” barrel. Cant wait to see these guys run their guns and see how bad they run and how bad they shoot and never have a clue why. 😂

That’s a super clean build… I just got a Saint Victor ar and tryna build it to something very similar to this. The only problem is that it doesn’t have the rail on the top of the barrel to add attachments. Excuse me if I don’t know the actual terms. But very excited

Nice build, love to see it. To touch on what some of the other commenters mentioned. Torque specs are important. From what I can find, Geissele specs that barrel nut to 40 fit-lbs, and with that extension you had there with the armorers wrench (roughly 8.5 inches added between torque wrench and barrel nut), it’s probably 25 ft-lbs or so on the nut (I’m just guessing that the torque wrench handle was 12 inches. The angle between the wrench handle and the extension is also a factor so not any kind of exact calculation here). I just thought you had a good build going and I want to give you some insight to improve your next one. Lubricated threads are a big factor in torquing also. The formula for calculating torque with a parallel extension is. (TorqueWrenchLenght x Torque Desired) divided by (TorqueWrenchLenght + ExtensionLenght). Cheers

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely be more conscious of that in future builds.
@BigJuicyBlake13 күн бұрын
@@vietnamtacticalyou can also just make sure the attachment is 90° from your torque wrench to obtain the correct spec. If your attachment is at a 90° angle, you don’t add to the length of the lever. In the video, you overtorqued all the torques by a pretty good amount of

Overall seems to be a decent mid-tier rifle. Not the parts list I'd have gone with, but certainly good quality. Some small critiques for the actual build was the wire for the light not being cable managed out of the way. Some Magpul WCK or similar product makes things so much cleaner. I also love my JP Enterprises Silent Capture Spring, feels extremely smooth to shoot, and eliminates the need for a detent. Also curious if you zeroed the BUIS at the same time as the Eotech?

1. Hopefully that barrel is dimpled for the gas block. 2. Hopefully you used thread locker on those gas block screws. 3. Optic should be held forward when tightened

This is art. Solid build and video. Well done sir, subscribed. I'm collecting components for my first build. Newb question: How do you know where to initially set up the adjustable gas block? Is there a specific torque value. The gas system got me a little nervous. Thanks for sharing wisdom, stay blessed
@vietnamtacticalАй бұрын
There is usually a dimple on the underside of the barrel. I loosen the set screw on the gas block and move the block back and forwards while slightly tightening the set screw. The set screw will find its way into that dimple and thats how you know the gas holes will be aligned, just make sure the gas tube is the right way and orientation

You need to pick up a set of roll pin punches, they allow you to get the roll pins in a lot easier and you don't damage the coating around the pin hole. You don't need the brass flat punch at all. Nice gun.

Love the video! As a brazillian that never saw one real weapon up close, I didn't knew that there was that many parts on it. Awesome to see this build videos!! About the punching, i'm assuming you're using a brass piece with a brass tip hammer... Isn't the brass going to leave a mark on the part its being hammered on?

Beautiful build. Just as commentary NOT criticism: if I were going to use the Aero upper I'd probably go with their M4E1 lower. It's sexy and you don't have to put on a trigger guard. Also there are some nice cable management accessories for the handguard. But all that is just personal preference, cause that's a Cadillac build.

Pretty good, but if I just make some suggestions that will make it feel a world of difference: A JP silent capture recoil buffer, and an adjustable gas block. Fine tune it to his specific ammo and it'll feel like a real race gun.
