It's so funny to watch this because I am using this capsule system to expand my wardrobe! I have been filling in the rows and not having enough items to finish a row, so then based on my color scheme and what I have available (I am a seamstress) I am making notes in sharpie of what I need to make or buy to finish the row! I am glad you decided to add more dresses though because I love wearing dresses and was debating on whether I should add another one or two into my capsule! Thanks for showing the whole process! I would love to see an update at the end of the month or something.

That’s awesome!! I’ve noticed this formula is popular with women who sew their clothes probably because it’s such a manageable size 😚 I will definitely update at the end of the month - lmk if you have specifics about how it went that you’d particularly like to see ❤️

I am very much a dress person too, but am determined to expand my closet and make it more interchangeable by making and buying separates I will actually wear. This is an interesting design of capsule thanks for sharing. My only thing is wouldn't it be easier to just use your own clothes to show us how your building the capsule? Appreciated nonetheless.

Thanks for watching! I’m not sure exactly what you mean about my own clothes? Like holding things up on camera? Appreciate your feedback!

@@rachelnachmias3166 Yes basically. For me part of the fun of watching others tackle capsules is seeing their personal style. Just my preference. But also it just seemed like it might literally be easier than the app at times when you mentioned the app images not always representing yr garments. 🙂 I have a long term fantasy of the famous Cher Horowitz app being my closet reality! Just when will I rltake the pics....

Hi Rachel, this was so interesting! I have been thinking of a capsule and trying to get my wardrobe in order for some time. I had decided to try not to buy anything for the foreseeable future until I had worked out where the gaps were, and even then I wanted to try and thrift or clothes swap if possible. So seeing the 4 by 4 method used by you inspired me. The main struggles I think I will face, is making sure it’s a mix and match wardrobe. I’m still trying to build a bright winter wardrobe and haven’t got many pieces that are coloured which can make it a bit too neutral. That’s been one of the trickiest things about being a BW- finding pieces with sufficient saturation. Any thoughts - I notice you are using a lot of black and whites- will you add colour with accessories?

I'm so glad you found this helpful! I will add some color with accessories, as the 4x4 doesn't use them and hence doesn't limit them. I could have definitely used color in place of either black or white, sapphire blue works really well, or red certainly, but I have loved black and white my whole life and I enjoy wearing it. You might have been able to catch that my wardrobe as a whole has color represented much more in dresses, which in the future might be something I want to look at when I start making purchases again, especially if I still want to wear more separates. Let us know how you go with your wardrobe!
