Thanks Darin for another interesting video. I think your method works well for shorter trips but for me it would result in my packing way too much. Before the pandemic, my husband and I would set off on two or three month adventures in Europe with only a carryon bag each. By necessity, our clothing was limited to the bare essentials and you have to be prepared to wear the same outfits on repeat. We always take casual clothes that work for a variety of situations. I always take a lightweight black dress that can be dressed up with sandals and a necklace or scarf but can also be worn with a top or sweater to look like a skirt. My other must pack items include a warm fleece or sweater ( for leaving home in winter in Canberra, Australia and is very useful in Scotland visiting family, even in summer) and a very thin, filmy wrap cardigan which can be used to cover my shoulders in churches or for breezy evenings by the coast. I usually travel with 11-14 items of clothing it total (excluding my swimsuit and underwear). This type of packing is not for everyone but it works really well when you’re moving around often, catching trains and carrying your bag around with you. I’m also limited by what my 58 year old bodgy back can carry so I like to keep my total bag weight below 10 kegs. If I get bored with my wardrobe I buy a new dress or shirt. If I take too much I always regret it and send clothes home. We’re looking forward to another European adventure soon. Packing is always challenging but less is so much more!

I always take on vacation: a small daypack (as my daytime bag and for holding purchases); pages saved from newspapers or magazines with articles I've saved to read in transit (and then recycle at my destination); a small snack for the plane (just in case); and an empty water bottle (to fill up after passing through airport security and for when I'm out and about at my destination).

I typically only travel with a backpack, so clothing has to be mostly wrinkle-free material or at least items I can hang when I arrive, and they loosen up just fine. I have used your techniques from the course to design a couple of travel capsules. The only time I get frustrated and end up overpacking is when I don't have any firm plans on what I am going to do. But now, I don't feel the pressure to bring more just in case. I will just pack dressy jewelry or a fancy bag to upgrade an outfit I am already planning on packing. I have a trip this week, so I have already pulled outfits for it but now I want to use your AI app to see how many outfits the app suggests. :)

Those Bento bags are adorable! Can I make a suggestion? Please make some in solid Christmas colors and natural linen too, they would be great reusable gift wrapping! I have been trying to find vintage scarves, pillowcases, etc. It’s like the wrapping is a big chunk of the gift and the eco-friendliness is a gift to ALL. Thank you for all of your thoughtful content and products.

I've always been an expert packer. I've just wondered if this in any way relates to being a nurse and most particularly a peripperative nurse. Professionally neat tidy, always ready with the right item and not the wrong thing. Also researching first if I don't know something specific. Not thought of that before but could be related.

Thanks Daria. I'm an over-packer so this video is great. I just returned from a 12 day trip to Europe and only wore 50% of what I packed in a large suitcase. My goal is a carry-on only for my next international trip. I found that some fabrics travel better than others. A pair of black jeans with stretch became very stinky (from the stretch material perhaps?). How do you keep clothing fresh smelling when wearing the outfits more than once? I hand wash underwear and socks but nothing else during trips.

When traveling i don't bring jeans with me. Because it's heavy, not easy to dry and stinky

team overpacked more often than underpacked🤭😁but I am getting better after being your WoW student for a few years now and having your WoW warm colour palette is very helpful in choosing the colours I like and suit me best. Btw I love your lavender shirt and olive colour pants combo. Do you mind sharing where is that shirt from?

Hello daria, loving all of ur videos ❤ your lilac shirt looks lovely on you even if it is a cold colour and you are an autumn and should wear muted warm color, how is it possible to wear colours than are not in one's palette? Much love ❤🥰
@wonderwardrobe2 жыл бұрын
Lilac in theory is considered as a warm color because it has red tint in it. Lavender is similar colour but it has more blue tint and so it’s considered as cold color. This means that warm types can wear lilac easily, while cold types should opt for lavender.

Question: for any creases do you rely on the place you’re staying to provide an iron or steamer or bring your own?
@wonderwardrobe2 жыл бұрын
Usually I ask if the hotel or rental place provide an iron. If they don’t I bring my own small iron. I’ve never tried a travel size steamer, but looking at how my regular steamer is struggling to iron some fabrics, taking a small iron is a better choice for me.
@ohmysofly282 жыл бұрын
In a pinch you can also use the hair dryer in the bathroom! It won't work to iron your whole suitcase but if you have a few creases you want to be rid of quickly it has worked for me in the past

I'm confused! That little neatly packed suitcase at the end didn't hold all of the clothing in your travel capsule, not to mention underwear (or don't you wear any?). I love the idea of a capsule for travel and what you showed was wonderful, just would have like to see it all fit into the suitcase. Daria your taste in clothing and colors is an inspiration! Keep up the good work.

Here in Europe MOST low cost airlines would also allow as a hand luggage an additional small backpack along with the small cabin size luggage. One would have plenty of space to pack gadgets, phone, laptop, cosmetics, lingerie and even a bit of food for the flight.

Where can I find the clothes in this video? I have bought the whole course but can't understand where the shopping links are?

This is a very old capsule so the links have expired. For new capsules, you can find the links on our discord.

Here’s my best additional tips after 40+ countries 🙂 - Use bikini tops as sport bras. - As for exploring the city, if you plan to visit churches I recommend clothes that go below the knee and cover the shoulders such as a midi-dress or a tee and 3/4 pants. - Packing cubes are great but add an empty one for future laundry. - I have 2 wallets in high risk areas, one with some small bills and one with cards and cash. That way I can toss them my dummy wallet if I get robbed. Your phone is usually the next victim so don’t keep your cash and cards in your phone case. - Diaper backpacks are your friend if you travel with only a small backpack or want one to take on the plane. They have tons of compartment and you can usually zip them all the way down the middle + they come in way cuter designs than camouflage green which is usually what you get if you search for a backpack with many compartments. - Turkish hammam towels are great all in one beach towels/blankets/scarfs/cover-ups. Fun travels ya’ll! 🥳

@abigaelmacritchie13652 жыл бұрын
@@jojomojo6569 mine has 2 pods you can take out of the bag, one of which is insulated. It even has straps and you can carry it like a mini backpack. It will fit a full picnic if needed and has pockets for cuttlery, etc. The other one is the actual diaper pod, but I use that for the intended purpose 😂 it will make a great toiletry bag eventually though!

Another tip is to fold your dirty laundry before placing it in a separate cube. It takes up less space that way.

I'm an overpacker who thinks she's an underpacker :-) I never go barefoot in a hotel, so I pack 2 pairs of flip-flops: one to take a shower with and one dry for after the shower. You packed fashion, but what about toiletries? makeup? skin care? hair care?
@mariat86322 жыл бұрын
Toiletries/makeup would need to fit in a 1liter SEALED plastic bag if one travels with just a hand luggage. So keep it as minimalistic as possible. I always fill empty SMALL hand gel containers with shampoo, toothpaste, fluid soap and instead of antiperspirant I use baking powder in a paper bag. LOL

Daria, I fail to see how your travel capsule calculator qualifies as AI. It seems like it's programmed to carry out specified arithmetic operations, such as addition and multiplication, without any of the cognitive-like functions, such as learning or problem solving, that fit the concept of AI as we currently understand it. Even though it might be a helpful tool for someone trying to quickly decide how much to pack, the use of the AI buzzword is misleading (and downright wrong).
