This is how early buildings were created, for aeons. Manual labour, no machines, just ingenuity. The metal tools helped, here, but just think how people did this before the Iron Age, and think of the building of stone circles, using the same ingenuity. I have huge respect for you and your family, Hanna.

Doing it yourself is so satisfying! You have so much more control. Even if it goes slower, you're still progressing, chip,chip,chipping away at it. Doing all the bits you can. You can really own that ! 🤩

@@HannaVanAelst You will have no problems there! I bet your biggest problem will be kicking out family to get work done. Cool thing is you built it big enough there is room for everyone!

Well done ! What a lot of serious hard work, and that's just the digging of the foundations! A fabulous result, and a space that we all envy!

What a magnificent work space. I love the use of hand tools in this video, and how each beam was lovingly placed by hand with raw strength and man power. that must have felt so rewarding to see this come together. My fav moments are the ones you take to yourself to do a spin in your new space, stare out the window and take in the view, and blowing on the nail gun and smiling. Such wholesome content.

That's a cool way of doing the floor. From above :) saves going under to pack insulation and retain it. Excellent 👍🏻 gotta keep those pesky vermin out. We have birds picking away at the insulation below wooden floors here. Nesting in the void etc.

Hey Hanna Can i just say i am so envious,not just of the studio your way of living Who helped family & friends??..Do you mind me asking,did you pay for help or do you all help each other out??..I would love to live in a community where everyone helped each other in diffrent ways..So much talent here,i love the slower pace aswell..i feel like this is how we should be living,this is how we used to live,no wonder there are so many people suffering depression..Its a throw away society things don't mean that much anymore.. Also do you have to pay for the land you live on??..I would love to live this way..i grow veg,i have started growing flowers aswell,making my own compost,would love to keep bee's,you never know. Sending love & positivity 💜☮💜☮

This is impressive. truly a DI Y studio. damn. thats a lot of hard work. How is the weather where you live? Im in Northern California and its so hot right now its in the triple digits. luckily we have a canal and irrigation that runs thru our property here but only if weve had enough rain from the previous fall winter and spring. 2 years ago there wasnt Any water at all. ps (not that you care but-)Im speaking as the wife of the person pictured to the left.

Very nice video! Were the logs fresh, or did you dry them or something? Have fun in your own workspace. Be proud!
@HannaVanAelst3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim! The logs were fresh when we cut them and when I took the bark off. By the time we put them in position they were very nearly dry.

What kind of trees are you using?
@HannaVanAelst3 жыл бұрын
We used treated old electricity posts for the main structure. And then spruce from a neighbors forest.
