I build a custom case to replace my old terrible case. I also make my own power trips and wire them in. More info on the power strips in the next video. recklessexperimentationaudio.com

that trick with the paint onto the screws to see where to drill was so cool, thank you for that.

Thanks for that. Very useful to watch the process from beginning to end. Learnt quite a few things.

Thanks for making this video. I've built a few custom cases myself, but this one has some unique features, and you built it in a very satisfyingly neat way. Great tip about the power supply too. I've been wanting to try a Meanwell one for a while, but couldn't decide the best one to use.

Be careful if you're going to use Meanwell power supplies. Although this was an interesting and well done video, there are a lot of videos just like this showing Meanwells that are installed dangerously with exposed AC terminals. I think that there are probably a lot of people installing Meanwells just like this without realising the potential for electrocution without the ac terminals covered over by some kind of junction box housing.

@@wvo2m Thanks, this is a good point. I think for a DIY self-built case to be used by someone experienced, where everything else is done neatly, this is kind of OK. But for a beginner level, it is a real risk to leave mains terminals exposed. Apart from the risk of directly touching the terminals, an uninsulated wire from a module (eg a messily built DIY module) could accidentally touch them while the case is in use.. definitely simpler just to cover them up!

I'm thinking of using one of these power supplies. Have you experience noise with it? I've got about half digital and half analog modules for this case. Thanks!
